I was very pleased with Certified Sweeps' responsiveness, promptness, and professionalism.  My call was returned within a reasonable time (it was during the holiday weeks, so I didn't expect an immediate response), and an appointment was set for later in the week.  The gentlemen on the crew were polite, and they explained what they were looking for with the inspection and what they saw as potential problems.  Work was completed quickly and neatly.  It was great to get prompt, honest, professional service.  I am waiting for an estimate for some further work, and I plan to use Certified Sweeps again.

Jim was extremely helpful and patient in helping us understand the nuances between keeping our old vent less fireplace and replacing it with a new vented model for our 20' X 20' garden room. Our  time frame was very short since we had about 30 people coming for the Christmas holidays, many who would be sleeping in this room, so it was imperative to get something working .  We were not "pressured" to purchase a replacement.
Once we had made the decision, he and an assistant quickly disconnected and removed the old model that same day. He also ordered the replacement, insured that it arrived on time, and installed it professionally - all during the busy pre- Christmas holidays.
His cost estimate was right on and he and his crew were very cordial and knowledgeable.

Jim was a consummate professional. He had done some tuck repair work on a chimney at a house we owned and rented. We asked him to come look at the lining that another contractor had installed. After identifying immediately that the lining was not up to code and was actually making our updraft problem worse (we had been getting smoke in the house). He proposed a circulation system for the top of the chimney that was prohibitively expensive, so we decided to wait on that. However, Jim also identified the cause of our other issue, water leakage around the chimney. He showed us exactly where the leaks were percolating through the chimney.
He proposed the installation of a chimney moisture system that would redirect the water away from the masonry and allow it to evaporate. He quoted us a reasonable rate and we agreed on a date a few weeks later.
Chimney Sweeps really demonstrated their professionalism with the repair and installation. They showed up immediately on time (this was in June), and took the utmost care to ensure that the work was complete with a quality crew. Jim was kind enough to walk us through the process when we showed up to the house in the middle of the day to see the progress. He explained how they had taken some of the best brick pieces from the back of the chimney and moved them to the visible areas to keep the color and appearance consistent as best as they could.
By the end of the day they had almost completely finished the process. The mortar set overnight, and by the middle of the next day, the chimney seal was complete. Jim put a cap on one of the chimney outlets, and blocked the other with a temporary seal that would keep water out but would let us install the circulation draft system if we decided to do so.
After the installation, we had several strong storms and saw absolutely no moisture in the house where there was often water previously. The chimney bricks were bone dry inside the house. We asked Jim to come back in October and put a cap on the open chimney so we could have fires this winter. Jim's crew showed up within the next four days and put the cap on expertly.
I have nothing but praise for Chimney Sweeps.

I had no idea what kind of animal was living in my chimney, but I knew something was there, and it had to be removed. We live in an old house with tall chimneys and a slate roof, and I was afraid that it would be difficult to find someone with the right equipment to handle the job. I envisioned a terrible mess, and maybe even an animal in my house! To the contrary, the work was done expertly and in a very professional manner--and no terrible mess! A special lift was used to access the chimney and to place new steel covers over the area where the animal was using to gain entry into my house. He even took video of the raccoon exiting the chimney and climbing down the nearby tree. Thank you to Jim Pritchett for a job well done!

He arrived promptly and completed the work in the time expected. He patiently explained the installation to me as it progressed. I was impressed with his professionalism. We have used the new fireplace for several days now and are very pleased (and warm)!

He explained what he would do, rolled up an area rug, laid down a big tarp, and carefully disassembled the pieces of the fireplace to access the flue, etc. He used a large vacuum that emitted no dust. We had not had our chimney swept in 4 years and he was able to remove about 3-4 inches (depth on the bottom of the fireplace) of soot from the chimney. He was professional, courteous, punctual, clean and very good.

Jim and Ron came and inspected the chimney for the fireplace and cleaned the dryer vent. Because the fireplace was relatively new, Jim said it didn't need a cleaning at this time and saved me some money. They took pix to show us the large amount of lint in the dryer vent. They did a great job of clening the dryer pipe to include going down into the crawl space for repairs and cleaning up afterward. I would not hesitate to recommend Sertified to anyone.
