Customers say: True professional

"Wade has done many projects in our home. He installed doors, changed all lights switches, install lights, shelves, installed railing on patio, exhaust fans in bathrooms, shower/bath door . Wade was always quick to answer when I called, he was prompt, had everything he needed to complete project. He is friendly, courteous, extremely respectful. He is a jack of all trades. there was not anything he couldn’t tackle. I am sorry he moved away and I cannot utilize his services. I highly recommend him."

My name is Carson Thrasher. I’ve grown up around the Sullivan area and this is home. I have been around the electrical field for since 2018 when I graduated college. I’ve worked as an electrical engineer for a few years and started my business in 2023. I quit my job in November of ‘25 and am working the business full time. "Hired and paid them for installing new fan that I purchased. After hanging they noticed lightning bracket was not welded. Said they would come back and repaired. Have called numerous times and only received call back twice. Always promising to come back and repair. I paid twice what he was going to charge me, so he would return. Never has returned and I had another fan I was going to pay him to repair. Dont like to give bad reviews, but have no choice. Unless this issue is resolved, I would not use or recommend using home advisor again."

"ERI was fast to respond to my request for information and supplied a bid for the project. Initially we were to move some outlets and relocate a couple of ceiling fixtures but the scope grew, adding 6 ceiling fans, and a stand alone circuit for a microwave. Owner Pat has a great deal of experience and knows the electrical codes. ERI treated us respectfully, did the work correctly, and I will use them again!"

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can lubricate a ceiling fan without taking it apart. Ensure the fan is off and clean any dust around the motor area before lubricating. Apply several drops of machine oil to the top of the motor housing where the shaft enters or via the oil ports if available. Regular lubrication helps maintain smooth operation and reduces noise. If your fan lacks an accessible oil port, it may require disassembly or professional maintenance.

WD-40 in its liquid or aerosol form is highly flammable. Using it around live electrical parts, such as a bath fan, can generate fire and a dangerous condition. However, if you follow proper safety procedures, including disconnecting the power to the fan before working on it, WD-40 can help remove some of the grime that builds up in your bath fan.

There are many types of ceiling fans, each with specific features and advantages. Standard ceiling fans are a traditional choice suitable for most spaces and can be made from materials like plastic, wood, metal, or fiberboard. For rooms with low ceilings, low-profile fans are a better fit. Other specialized types include smart fans, which you can control with a smartphone or voice commands, and dual-motor fans that provide increased airflow in multiple directions. For energy savings, Energy-Star certified fans can be up to 60% more efficient than standard models, helping to lower your utility bill. You can also find fans with built-in lights, fans with retractable blades, and large ceiling fans designed for spacious rooms with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high.

When maintained and repaired when necessary, your whole-house fan can last between 10 and 20 years. Check your warranty when purchasing the unit, as it will typically only cover between 5 and 15 years. Its longevity will also depend on your local climate and how much you use the fan. Having a professional size your fan appropriately for your home size will also help ensure it doesn’t get overworked, which can limit its lifespan.

A tripped circuit breaker, broken pull chain, faulty wiring, or a bad motor or capacitor are all common causes for a fan to stop working.
