"I am very satisfied with window shopping. The salesman was very good at explaining all about the way the windows work and also how efficient they are. I thought price was a very fair price for installation and clean up. The workers that put my windows in were good and didn't take them long to put them in. The caulking around my windows was very neat and clean . I did notice once windows were in it reduced outside noise alot. They cleaned up around the house nicely also. I would recommend window shopping to all my friends and would buy from them again. I'm looking now to put screen doors on in the future. Thanks to everyone from window shopping who helped on my window project. Job well done. Mark a. B."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

In Jasper, leaving screens in place during hailstorms, storing removable screens in garages with high humidity, or letting pets scratch at porch screens can all reduce their lifespan. Using abrasive cleaners, ignoring small punctures, or pushing on screens to open windows can also cause early damage. Regularly checking for loose mesh and gently cleaning with mild soap helps extend the life of your window and porch screens.

Helpful?

In Jasper, homeowners are choosing solar screens for west-facing windows to reduce glare, pet-resistant mesh to withstand active pets, and retractable screens for covered patios. Color-matched frames are popular in historic neighborhoods, while full-frame replacements and charcoal fiberglass screening are preferred for durability. Many also opt for fine mesh to block tiny insects, especially in areas close to the Patoka River or wooded lots.

Helpful?

Your Jasper home likely needs screen repair if you notice frayed mesh, bent frames, or screens that rattle in the wind—issues often seen in homes near farmland or with older wood windows. If you experience increased indoor allergens, persistent bugs, or difficulty opening porch screens after storms, these are clear signs that window screen replacement or porch screen repair will improve your home’s comfort and efficiency.

Helpful?

Completing screen repair in Jasper enhances comfort by allowing you to open windows for cross-ventilation during humid summers and crisp autumn days, reducing reliance on air conditioning. Updated window screens also help keep out crop dust and pollen, which is common in Jasper’s rural areas, and act as a barrier against mosquitoes and other pests that are especially active from late spring through early fall.

Helpful?

If your Jasper home’s screens show sagging mesh, frames that separate at the corners, or visible rust on metal parts, it’s likely time for a redo. Repairs that use mismatched mesh, leave noticeable patchwork, or result in screens that don’t fit snugly often signal subpar work. Ongoing insect issues or screens that stick after heavy rain are also signs that previous window screen replacement wasn’t done properly.
