Our deck, especially, was really showing its age and I never expected our deck and porch to look as good as new, but they came really close. From Greg who came out to give the estimate, to Tracy and Michelle in the office and Jeff, Herb and Eric on the work crew, everyone was helpful, professional and respectful of our home. Since I had not seen color samples prior to our project, I trusted Tracy and Michelleâ  s advice when choosing a stain color that would look best on our home and it looks fantastic! "Upon uncovering a leak during a rain, I emailed Maximus Contracting through Angie's List. They were my 3rd email sent but the previous 2 had other things going on and couldn't accommodate the 1-2 day appointment I needed to prevent further leak damage. Eric (Owner) was very responsive and responded to my email quickly. Upon return call, he said he could have someone there that day. Leo arrived and immediately assessed the situation and explained the required repairs to me. Upon his call to Eric and then Eric's call to me to discuss the repair cost, I was very satisfied with the agreed-to price. Eric even had Leo caulk the vent above the garage with no increase in cost. Leo left to get materials and returned in about 20 minutes. The actual repairs took him about 1.5 hours and after cleaning up, he was there for about 3 hours. The weather looked like rain and it did rain that evening and the next day, so I am grateful to Eric for answering my email and acting promptly. I will go back to Maximus General Contracting for any future home repairs.

"My husband purchased the work from Groupon. It was for 3 hours of drywall. We had some minor drywall repairs around our door frames. It took forever to get a response. My husband had to call a few times. Rick was polite when he and my husband spoke. I spoke with Rick to arrange the date and he told me I would not be charged for the plaster since it took so long to schedule and that a special kind of quick dry plaster would be used so that it could be sanded the same day.
Once scheduled, the worker was polite and arrived on time. However he missed plastering around one of the door frames and charged me $50 for the materials. He also did not use the quick dry plaster so it was not sanded.

"I purchased the $499 Deck Restoration Big Deal. Overall, I was not that pleased with it. It took a lot of effort to schedule- lots of messages back and forth. Then they were an hour late on the day he was scheduled to stain. The workers were polite and quality of the work was adequate, but not great. They power-washed on day one and then came back and stained the next day. The worker was on his cell phone as he was staining, which I thought unprofessional. There were certain higher traffic areas that could have used a second coat, or possibly more extensive prep work, but they seemed there simply to stain, not and quot;restoreand quot;, the deck as the name of the big deal indicated.
