"Worked hard to fix our broken sewer line. Peru Utilities had no idea where our line was and didnâ t care once we found it. Seth along with a plumber got us fixed. Then they graded and sloped our yard for seed and straw. Highly Recommend"

"Bales Construction did an amazing job with our home renovation. We live in an old farmhouse that needed major renovation through the entire home. Even with the challenges of an old home, they did a great job on everything. Our contractor, Jake and his team, transformed our house into a home. They added a bathroom upstairs and reconfigured the entire floor, remodeled the dining room, kitchen, half bath, mudroom/laundry room, and master suite shower, added a pantry, and relocated our back door to make better use of our space. I recommend them for any project you have on your wish list!"

"Chris did a great job grading my gravel drive and laying a layer of new gravel on top. It looks wonderful. Chris did the job in a timely manner for a reasonable price. He's also super personable. Highly recommend!"

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

If you’re planning to dig on your property, you’ll need to check for underground utility lines. Call the national call-before-you-dig 811 number. Once connected to an operator, you can schedule a site visit to mark underground lines. This way, you won’t accidentally dig into pipes and can cause major (read: costly) issues.

Land surveys don’t technically expire. They do serve as a point of reference and a snapshot of your property, though, so as soon as you make changes to your property (and even if your neighbor makes certain changes to theirs), your existing land survey becomes inaccurate, and a new one must be done. Even if you don’t make any changes to your property, many states only guarantee the accuracy of a land survey for five to ten years.

You can’t build on undeveloped land without preparing it for construction, which involves running utilities to the site or accounting for private utilities like wells and septic systems and grading and compacting the soil for safe construction. Once you prepare the land, you can build on it as long as the project abides by local zoning regulations.

Depending on property size and complexity, usually 1-3 weeks.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.
