Small jobs welcome

"Chris and his two sons did an excellent job on our fence. They removed the old fence, set posts, and completed the fence within 4 days of starting. They were all friendly and respected the property. Cleaned up before leaving. I couldn't be more happy with the work and price. I will be hiring them again very soon to treat/stain the fence."

"I had them come out to repair a crushed part of my back yard black chain link fence. It looks great now!!! The guys were friendly, spoke English, professional and cleaned up the site afterwards. I would use them again!"

"Great job! Tracy removed lots of old wallpaper paste, patched several areas of the drywall, and painted. The finished walls were very smooth and looked like new. He is very knowledgeable and explained what was needed. He is very professional and showed up when scheduled. He kept a clean work area. I would definitely recommend him to others."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Issues include rust, loose posts, and damaged mesh. Regular maintenance prevents significant problems.

Armadillos are attracted to water, so a leaky irrigation system or an overwatered lawn can encourage them to move in. They especially like wet areas where they can burrow and loose soil where they can dig for grubs. They are also attracted to dense ground cover, where they can often find food sources.

In terms of materials, chicken wire mesh will be the most inexpensive option to use when building your fence. The downside is that it’s not the most attractive garden fence option. In a similar vein, you could choose a DIY fence made out of repurposed items, like car tires, or wooden pallets, either of which would be free to collect.

Yes, fence posts need to be installed below the frost line to ensure stability and prevent heaving caused by freezing and thawing cycles. The frost line is the depth at which soil freezes during winter. By placing posts below this line, often around 3 to 4 feet deep or as recommended for your specific region, you reduce the risk of the ground shifting, which can lead to leaning or unstable fences. Adequate depth provides better anchoring and helps maintain the fence's integrity, ensuring it remains secure and upright throughout changing seasons.

The best way to protect your pets from coyotes is to ensure they are always supervised when outside, especially during dawn and dusk when coyotes are the most active. When walking your dog, keep it on a short leash and carry something noisy you can use to haze any coyotes you may encounter.
