"Stavros has performed mowing services for my property for @ ten years and has always done an excellent job. We then started having them do fall leave pickup and cleanup, and spring time weeding, mulching and preparation of the beds - again, all excellent work, to the extent that neighbors cam and commented how wonderful things looked and who did the work! Recently we had them do some tree trimming, remove some evergreens planted by another company that had died, and plant new bushes, roses and shrubs. They took the time to raise the beds to a level that gave our plants a chance to thrive, and again, all the work was exceptionally well done. Finally, after years of trying to control my weeds and fertilize myself - the lawn looked really terrible! Three weeks after Stavros took over, my lawn looks GREAT - I was amazed! Stavros is not cheap, but I fell like I get what I pay for and more. As you may guess, I highly recommend."

"Extremely well. The owner and his employees were considerate and always concerned with our property and that of our neighbor. In a relatively small space  their creative ideas and use of colors and patterns turned an eyesore into a place we can enjoy and share with family and friends. The project was completed in four days and a pool that was in close proximity was as pristine as the day the project started. The work is hard and tedious and we greatly appreciate their patience in answering our questions and keeping us informed on their progress, and what was coming next. Good folks, fun to be around. It took us a while to find Grounds
Quality Lawn Care and it was worth the wait.

"Ranger Landscaping is one of the best businesses I could recommend to someone! This business is family run which is something which I found to be very rewarding because they did not cut corners like some of the other contractors I have brought in. Eric listened and took to heart everything I wanted done to my yard so that it could become my own place of peace after my recent retirement. The mulch looks amazing even after the past couple of weeks and they also laid stones for walkways for me which look beautiful. With great prices and great customer service, Ranger Landscaping will be my go to for years to come, and I hope that is the case for everyone else who hires them!"

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Dandelions, while hard to control and widespread across the country, are not typically categorized as noxious. Yellow starthistle, however, looks very similar to a dandelion and is highly damaging to local plants and invasive across the country.

Clover lawns stand up better against dog and cat urine than traditional turfgrass. If your pets love to hang out on the lawn on a sunny day—or if you find yourself with a lot of visiting neighborhood dogs—you could save yourself from yellow and brown patches by making the switch to a clover lawn.

You should add 1 to 4 inches of mulch, depending on your garden type and needs. Keep in mind that no amount of mulch can completely prevent weeds, but a heavier coverage (closer to 4 inches) can suppress weeds enough that you are only seeing them sprout every few weeks. Finer mulch prevents weeds more effectively than large mulch, so if you’re using mulched leaves or shredded bark, 1 to 2 inches will likely suffice, while 3 to 4 inches is best for larger mulch, like bark chips or straw.

Weeds may grow back when pulled out if the root is not completely removed. Invasive weeds can regrow from just a small portion of remaining root, so using a weed-pulling tool can help ensure you remove the entire root. Weeds may grow back faster if roots aren’t fully removed, and incomplete removal could cause them to spread as well.

Foxtail self-seeds and dispurses them among other grasses and pastures. The seeds can spread by wind and by attaching themselves to animals and humans. Seeds will germinate in their new location and become a new plant, which continues the spread of foxtail. Unfortunately, foxtail spreads easily, making it difficult to remove unless it’s caught quickly.
