"Overpriced! 5 hours spent at our house over 2 days. I didn’t see an itemized list of charges until the receipt after payment. Original estimate was over $2400! I removed items I knew our electrician could do for less. Estimate still $1800, but I thought I’d be happy with the quality. When I received the itemized receipt afterward, I noticed they charged $189 to repair the porch railing. This was minor repair - requiring 1-2 nails in 2 areas total. Buying an air powered nail gun costs less than $189. And they only fixed 1 of the 2 areas, so they didn’t even complete the task. The power washing done before painting the railing was minimal and suboptimal. I immediately contacted Mr. Handyman and was told that my questions would be reviewed. Silence. I’ve had an electrician come to our house- 8 hours of work including the 2 things that I removed from the Handyman list. Their work was more extensive (8 tasks), total charge $650. I’m blown away by how overpriced Mr Handyman is! Beware"

Some natural gas furnaces can be converted to propane with a conversion kit, but not all models are compatible. Consult a licensed HVAC pro to determine if conversion is possible and cost-effective for your system. There isn’t a way to convert electric fireplaces easily or cheaply to gas. The process requires major renovations, as opposed to wood fireplaces, which are often already vented and have space for the gas-burning equipment. To convert an electric fireplace to gas, you’d need to remove your old fireplace and get a completely new install.

Take this one seriously! If your oven smells like gas when it’s off, this is a telltale sign of a gas leak that can lead to a fire or explosion. In addition, a small leak has the potential to turn into a major leak without warning if any part of your piping or tubing breaks.
