"We contracted with Curbman to perform ceramic tile demolition. The tile areas weren't tarped off correctly, which spread tile dust throughout the house, along with sharp pieces of tile. Tile dust can cause respiratory issues for anyone, and I have some pre-existing issues, so it's a big problem to have it spread through the house, in the HVAC system, etc. My wife also cut herself on a tile shard, as did a Curbman worker, who ended up going to the emergency room. As we negotiated with Curbman to clean up the dust and shards, the owner became angry and stopped work on the job. He demanded that we pay the remainder of the contracted amount to resume work, which violated the terms of the contract. We chose to take our business elsewhere and requested a refund of unspent funds, which we estimated to be $3000. The owner refused to provide receipts and tried adding costs that hadn't been written into our estimate. He offered us a $40 refund and stopped responding to communication."

No, you cannot use vinegar to polish marble. It is too acidic for cleaning or polishing and can etch the surface. Instead, opt for non-acidic cleaners made specifically for marble. In most cases, chipped or cracked granite can be salvaged, but it depends on the size and scope of the damage. For example, a pro can smooth out small chips on the edge with polish pads or an angle grinder, but a crack that runs through the stone's surface has little-to-no chance of being fixed easily.

Buffing will only remove scratches at the surface level of your flooring. You may also need to apply hardwood floor wax to restore the wax layer. To remove deeper scratches, you’ll need another floor repair method like sanding; however, if you sand the floor, you’ll also need to stain and seal it.

It is advisable to have stone countertops inspected every few years, especially if damage is noticed. Regular maintenance and inspection help catch and resolve issues early, extending the countertops' lifespan.
