"Robert contacted us to provide an estimate shortly after we posted our project. He was on time, courteous, and gave the best estimate of the three companies who replied. He returned five days later with his crew (five men total). They removed three very tall pine trees and had the clean up finished in about three hours total. We would highly recommend Black Cherry Tree Service!"

"I had Allen's Tree Service come out to remove a large tree branch that fell on and into my pool. They had a large crew, and removed the limb quickly. I was impressed with the steps they took to prevent my pool from getting any additional damage. They also skimmed the debris off the pool cover, and their cleanup had the yard looking better than before the branch fell."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Dave and his crew for a tree and stump removal job, and I can not recommend their services enough. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. They were incredibly professional and kept their word on arrival time, which is always a plus. One of the things I appreciated the most was their willingness to go above and beyond. Since I wanted to save money, I asked them to leave the debris as it was after the job, so I could handle the cleanup on my own. Instead, they tidied up the entire site and piled everything neatly, making it much easier for me to manage it over time. The quality of work was top-notch. They handled the trees and stumps efficiently and with great care, completing the job quicker than I had expected. Their expertise was evident, and it gave me confidence in the service they provided. On top of that, the cost was very reasonable for the level of service I received, making the whole experience extremely valuable."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is highly recommended to remove tree stumps. Leaving them in the ground can lead to several problems, as they are not only unsightly but can also reduce your property's value. Stumps can obstruct landscaping plans, make mowing difficult, and hinder new growth. More importantly, they are prime breeding grounds for pests like termites, ants, and mice, which can spread to your home and cause costly damage to its wood and foundation. Stumps also attract fungi and diseases that can infect other healthy trees and plants in your yard. As a stump decays, it might sprout new, unwanted shoots. While removing a stump is an investment, it prevents these potential issues and enhances the safety, health, and appearance of your landscape.

Tree trimming can count as landscaping, depending on how a landscaping business describes its services. Professional tree trimmers are more specialized than landscapers and offer trimming services separately from general landscaping.

When general landscaping companies offer tree trimming, look up the details. They usually mean shaping or seasonal trimming of ornamental trees, which is different from trimming larger trees for health or safety reasons. When possible, look for a licensed expert that specializes in trees and tree health.

No, homeowners insurance typically does not cover the cost of removing a dead, sick, or rotting tree that is still standing. Insurance is designed to protect against sudden and unexpected accidents, whereas a tree dying or rotting over time is considered a maintenance issue. Coverage usually only applies after a tree has fallen and caused damage to your property.

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary. If you do move forward with your plan, try to choose a smaller ornamental tree, plant it as far away from the power lines as you can, and keep it trimmed to avoid future problems.

In nature, there are many things that can cause a tree to die, including diseases, insects, and natural disasters such as fires or droughts. Non-natural methods of killing a tree include herbicides or manual intervention, such as cutting it down. Consult a tree removal professional about your options for naturally killing a tree.
