"T-Rex turned our nearly impassable, pothole ridden private road into a smooth, completely repaired roadway. Working with T-Rex was great, 0scar is very personable and professional, he gave us several options and prices to choose from, and performed meticulous work. We and our neighbors are very pleased with performance and price. Will definitely recommend T-Rex Excavating to others and work with them again for any future needs. Thank you Oscar!"

"Carlos was absolutely amazing! Not only did he do a great job cutting my lawn, he also listened to some of my other landscaping concerns/wishes, came up w/ a plan, and worked w/ me to get it all figured out financially. He’s as good as it gets, and doesn’t cost as much as other reputable landscape companies. Thanks again, Carlos!"

"I can understand why Deluxe Paving has such excellent ratings! I have a large driveway that they removed and replaced. I felt very comfortable working with Howard through the entire process. Howard and his team did an outstanding job and I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends."

"They were professional, on-time, and answered all of our questions. We had an unusual shape we needed re-sodded and didn't realize it would take more sod than our original estimate. The other vendors changed their prices after they came out, but Landscape Designs made their original quote include our odd project area and still came in cheaper than their competitors."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

While paving a driveway is possible to do as a DIY project, we don’t recommend it. Hiring a driveway professional to pave it will ensure that your driveway looks neat and clean and lasts for years to come, and it will also prevent a weak driveway and, potentially, damage to your foundation. Paving a driveway requires heavy machinery, and while you can rent the equipment needed, operating it close to your garage slab or around your home’s foundation can crack it and lead to structural issues.

Pavers are a type of permeable hardscape that can be used for driveways, patios, walkways, and other landscaping features. Unlike poured concrete or asphalt, pavers typically have a layer of gravel underneath to prevent water runoff from damaging your property—though you can also lay pavers on grass. Because pavers are installed piece by piece, you can customize a one-of-a-kind hardscape that best suits your aesthetics, boosting your curb appeal along the way.

Compared to a 10x20 concrete driveway costing between $800 and $3,000, a resin bound driveway of the same size costing $3,900 to $4,000 is the more expensive option. However, the cost still makes resin a cheaper option compared to a 10x20 paver driveway costing an average of $12,000.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

The average cost to repair an asphalt driveway is around $2,459 to $2,500. However, prices can range from $100 for minor DIY crack filling to over $4,000 for more extensive professional work. Costs are often calculated per foot, with minor repairs costing $1 to $3 per linear foot and heavier damage like potholes, sinking, or crumbling costing $2 to $5 per linear foot. Patching smaller potholes can cost around $2 to $3 per square foot. The final price depends on the severity and extent of the damage, driveway design, local contractor rates, and whether sealing is included. For major repairs, it is recommended to hire a professional, and you may get a better deal by bundling repair and sealing services together.
