"Rick and his team painted my finished basement walls and bathroom walls. Two coats were applied. It took two days and they did a fabulous job. The job was scheduled timely and the painters were hard working and careful. Set-up, painting, and clean-up was perfect. The price was reasonable as well. If I need another painting job I would use them again."

"Chad painted our 30 year-old+ Morton building and it looks fabulous. The paint had faded and the building was looking pretty tired. Chad power-washed and then repainted using paint that will last for many years. I really appreciated the quality work. The lines between the two colors we chose were tight. Additionally, Chad overcommunicated to ensure we had current status without question--especially given this was such a large job. For example, it was raining one of the days he was scheduled to paint. He called anyway to make sure we knew he would not be there and provide an update on status. Awesome customer focus and experience! Excellent results! Highly recommend!"

Small jobs welcome

"Steve did a great job at a reasonable price. He is professional, skilled and friendly. We'd had parts of walls and ceilings ripped out on 2 floors when our cast iron stack pipe broke. He replaced drywall, cut and replaced wood trim, baseboards, and wood paneling at the bottom half of one wall. Then he primed and painted. And, he cleaned up when done. We will definitely hire Steve for future jobs. Mary Thurmond"

"I'm doing Brian a disservice by being able to select only one type of service and specific project. He STARTED by repairing a section of wall and plaster where the kitchen soffit hat been. It was flawlessly blended in when he was done. Shortly afterwards I had to relocate out of state and we depended on Brian to do a number of small repairs around the property to get it ready to sell. These included repairing siding, a fence section, interior door trim and others. With us out of the house entirely, Brian did the work extremely well, his prices are reasonable, and he is honest and dependable. I couldn't ask for more! I just wish I could get him to open a branch down here in Georgia."

"Chris has completed numerous projects at my house over the last several years. He removed huge bushes in front of my house, he ran underground pvc from my gutters away from the house. I have referred him to family and friends. He has installed gutters, installed pavers and did exterior painting. He is honest, reliable and does great work."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can paint over old exterior paint, but success depends on the condition of the existing paint and proper surface preparation. If the previous coating is in good shape (not cracked, peeling, or flaky), you can paint over it with less prep work. However, for the most durable and professional-looking results, follow these key preparation steps:

  • Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the exterior to remove all dirt, grime, and mildew. A pressure washer can be very effective for this.

  • Scrape and Sand: If the old paint is peeling, cracked, or flaky, you must scrape off all loose paint. After scraping, sand the surface to create a smooth, even base for the new paint. Sanding is especially important for wood siding.

  • Apply Primer: Using a quality exterior primer is highly recommended. It ensures the new paint adheres properly, improves durability, and provides a uniform finish. If you are painting a lighter color over a dark one, a tinted primer will help cover the old color more effectively.

Some brands offer paint-and-primer-in-one products for convenience. Taking the time to prepare the surface properly will not only increase your home's curb appeal but also help protect your siding and extend its life.

Professionals use safe, efficient methods that protect surfaces and prepare for new finishes.

Professionals may use a variety of methods to remove old paint from surfaces, often depending on the size and complexity of the surface. Paint scraping in combination with a chemical paint stripper is the most common method, but experts might also use heat or steam to loosen everything before peeling the paint off. Some might just sand off the old paint if the surface is relatively flat and easily accessible.

This factor depends on exactly how much paint you remove from your hardwood floors. If it’s just a few small, hardly noticeable spots, refinishing won’t be necessary. However, if you completely strip your floors of paint, you will likely need to sand and finish them.

Removing paint from brick can have both aesthetic and practical value. Some people prefer the timeless look of bare brick, making it worthwhile to remove old paint layers. Brick also lasts longer when unpainted, as paint traps moisture, causing the brick to deteriorate more quickly. If your brick walls are already in bad shape, stripping the paint off might do more harm than good.
