"I had a fence that was leaning on my neighbors yard that needed to be repaired. Arnold's Construction came out to do a free estimate to find out the post was rotted in the ground. They were so friendly, got the job done quickly and you could not tell it ever learned! I had them come back another day to replace posts around my garden, as well. I am so happy I found my go-to handyman."

"We had an excellent experience working with Robert Anthony from start to finish. They were professional, responsive, and incredibly detail-oriented throughout our kitchen remodel. His team completed our renovation on time, kept the workspace clean, and communicated with us every step of the way. The quality of the craftsmanship exceeded our expectations, and you can truly tell they take pride in their work. They transformed our kitcjen beautifully and made the entire process smooth and stress-free for my family. We are beyond happy with our kitchen and we couldn’t recommended him more."

When I started to practice this job. I didn’t realize the help I was giving to our boss and to the home or apartment that we were working on. To know that one day someone was going to go live there. Know every time I help a costumer I do realize that with my hard work I can achieve making somebody happy. That’s my goal in life.

"As someone who is a contractor, I can appreciate someone who truly goes above and beyond to make sure the work they do is to the highest standard possible. Rob showed up to first look at my project (bathroom and bedroom, with 3 drywall return windows) on time. He was polite and took the time to explain the process and each step along the way. He promptly sent a proposal the following day, which when compared to a previous contractor RFB was WAY more affordable! Once approved, Rob contacted me to schedule the work. Although it was a small project it was treated as if it was his only project. Again, they showed up on time, laid painters blankets from the bedroom to the garage door and when done each day cleaned up after themselves. The quality of work was superior to my previous contractor, prompt and more affordable! I will be recommending RFB to any friend or family member in search of a reliable (few and far between) drywall/painting contractor!"

"BEYOND FANTASTIC AS FOLLOWS:
*returned calls immediately to set up time to come to our house.
*arrived as scheduled to check out our concerns.  his explanations and input were easily understood.  he was honest and
realistic regarding his conclusions of the proposed job.
*said he would email an estimate that night ..... and he did.  let him know we accepted his proposal and set up day/time
  to do the job
*arrived on time.  explained what would take place; laid out drop cloths to protect flooring.  gave up-date of what was/wasnt
found and gave explanation.  completed job in timely fashion.
*we asked Jim to take a look at our attic and two basement walls to check for mold.  did so willingly and explained what he
found.  needed him to return.  said he would send email estimate following day and did so.  accepted estimate.
*return date/time had been set up upon completion of first day's job.  again, arrived on time.
*took care of attic problem first.  explained exactly what he did and that he was able to completely contain the mold.
*took care of basement walls.  job completed
*Jim is professional, respectful and very knowledgeable about his business.  he is a first class business man and would      NOT  hesitate to recommend him.  we were very lucky to have found Jim and would not  use anyone else in the future.

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Wall anchors are suitable for drywall and plaster walls, which are common in most homes. However, different wall materials may require specialized anchors. For concrete or masonry walls, you'd typically use concrete anchors. When dealing with other wall types, such as brick or tile, specific anchors designed for those materials may be necessary. Always consult with a hardware specialist or check the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you select the appropriate anchors for your specific wall type.

Plaster is a beautiful finish but is labor-intensive to install and remove. It’s vulnerable to cracking and more sensitive to moisture variance than drywall. Installing plaster on a new wall is an expensive process that can take days to weeks, depending on the scope. Removing a plaster wall can also be quite expensive and time-consuming.

There are a few ways to figure out if your walls are plaster or drywall, but the pushpin method is probably the easiest option. To try it, choose a part of your wall where you can insert a pushpin or thumbtack without leaving an obvious mark. If it goes in easily, you have drywall. But if the wall is tough to penetrate, that’s plaster.

You should always hang drywall from the top down. Starting at the top makes it easier to create a straight, tight line between the ceiling and the wall. Any gaps that occur will be at the bottom, where they are easier to manage. You can either cut the bottom piece of drywall to fit the remaining space or cover the gap with baseboard trim. Additionally, starting at the top is physically easier, as you won't have to fit the top sheet into a tight space between the lower sheet and the ceiling, or try to balance the upper sheets on the lower ones while securing them.

Yes, if there is mold in your drywall mud and you then use it to build walls in your house—or if mold develops in your set drywall, like it can in hot and humid areas—it can lead to illness. Mold in your drywall (or other parts of your home) can make existing respiratory conditions or allergies worse, and the effect can be more intense for those who have existing health issues or compromised immune systems.
