"Fantastic experience with Ace. Beau put the customer (ie me) around everything he did and at each interaction. Work was extremely professionally done, great communication, on budget, and very respectful. He cleaned up after the job was done...and even came the next day to touch up minor details (even though he really didn't have to)! Highly recommended!"

"Great job by Cesar! Very professional and great communication. Both my bedroom and bathroom look great! Always cleaned up after he left and vacuumed. The job took three days and it was well worth it. Cesar went way out of his way to fix things that needed to get done even without asking. Thank you Cesar"

"I had a fence that was leaning on my neighbors yard that needed to be repaired. Arnold's Construction came out to do a free estimate to find out the post was rotted in the ground. They were so friendly, got the job done quickly and you could not tell it ever learned! I had them come back another day to replace posts around my garden, as well. I am so happy I found my go-to handyman."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

While fumigation chemicals cannot pass through solid objects, they will seep into any openings in walls, doors, or other closed spaces. This allows them to get into tight places where pests may be hiding and causing damage, like termites ruining the foundation of your home. It also means that your home needs to ventilate for 48 hours before returning to ensure that no harmful chemicals remain in your space.

Deciding whether to repair or replace drywall can be tricky, but your top considerations should be the extent of the damage and what caused the damage. For instance, if you need to repair a small hole caused by a doorknob that hit the wall, you can safely patch it without a second thought. However, if you have significant drywall damage caused by water damage, it’s best to thoroughly remove the drywall to inspect and repair the pipes behind it before replacing it.

There is no way to cut drywall without making dust, but you can reduce the amount of dust and especially the dangerous airborne particles by using manual cutting tools. Using a utility knife to score and snap your drywall will minimize dust production, and a jab saw for cutting cutouts for boxes and fixtures will generate almost no airborne dust. Even if you use these methods, you should still wear a respirator and safety goggles to avoid damage to your lungs and eyes.

If you're comfortable hanging drywall yourself, you may be comfortable finishing it. But it's worth noting that finishing drywall adds several steps to the process and a lot of waiting time. Hiring a drywall installer may be the way to go if you'd rather spend your time doing other things or are nervous about leaving a rough surface.

A nail in drywall cannot hold very much—usually only a few pounds. A nail in a stud can add support and hold around 20 pounds. If you are trying to hang something heavier, get some help from drywall anchors—toggle bolts are very strong and able to withstand more weight.
