A-1 Superior Plumbing & Sewer Inc is a family owned company that offers quick service for any plumbing and sewer work in Orland Park, IL. No job is too small. We charge flat rate pricing by the job, not by the hour. All of our work is 100% guaranteed
"We have a 45+ year old house, with 3" pipes and T connectors, so the line has clogged repeatedly over the years. This time was particularly difficult, but Joe worked through the issues, including some surprises (old clean out hidden in ventilation) and consulted with me on options. I was completely satisfied with the end result, and his solution should make future clogging issues easier to resolve. Will definitely use A1 Superior plumbing again."

3 employees. No subs. Cost determined by the job. Travel charges may apply. Extra charge for after-hours service. Ask about angie's list discount.
"When temperatures dropped to -50 with wind chill, the pipes to our basement bathroom sink froze. And as soon as everything began to thaw, (on Friday night) we found that we had a ruptured hot water pipe. Water was shooting out of the wall all over the bathroom. When it became clear that our usual plumber wasn't going to show up on Saturday, I frantically called half-a-dozen plumbers from Angie's List. Only Charlie got back to me and agreed to show up after his next job. On a day that he was clearly being overwhelmed with calls from all over the city, Charlie kept his word and showed up with his partner Dimitri. They quickly figured out there were no other leaks and repaired the pipe. On top of it, Charlie spotted two other unrelated plumbing issues in our HVAC room. They were minor now but could have turned into bigger problems down the road. His thoroughness and attention to detail allowed him to spot these hidden problems and save us headaches down the road. We had our water working in under an hour (on a Saturday evening!) and he charged a very fair price given the demands upon his time. He left our house at 5pm, his phone blowing up from other customers. I asked if he was going to have an end to the day soon, but he said he still had hours to go...he had promised other worried homeowners that he would help them today. THAT's the kind of dedication I want from my plumber. Call Charlie with confidence."

"I wanted to leave an honest review based on my experience with Four Seasons: The sales process with Keith Williams was excellent. He was clear, responsive, and a big reason I chose Four Seasons. But unfortunately, everything after the install fell apart and turned into a stressful, frustrating experience. Installation issues included: 1. Technicians working in my home past 11pm, which disrupted my family unnecessarily 2. A 3-day ordeal just to get enough refrigerant into one of the systems, with no continuity between techs and no internal handoff notes 3. A bedroom door improperly reinstalled after they removed it to get to the HVAC unit — took me two weeks and multiple calls to get it fixed 4. Dirt and debris left behind in multiple areas (floor, attic tile, etc.) 5. A large piece of paint damaged near one of the duct returns during duct cleaning (Four seasons claimed I signed a contract which waived their liability if paint was removed) To make matters worse, I was mistakenly double charged for duct cleanings, even though three were already included in my initial invoice, and I had to chase that down through customer service. And speaking of customer service, long hold times (25+ minutes), no consistent point of contact, and in total I spent about two hours on the phone trying to coordinate cleanups and fixes. The installers were friendly, and the equipment seems solid, but the lack of communication between departments, the mess, the billing errors, and the lack of follow-through all added up. I gave two stars only because the sales experience was strong, the equipment appears to be working, and the initial install was on time. But this was otherwise a bait-and-switch type experience: polished up front, but poorly executed in the back end. I expected a lot more from a company of this size."

The average cost to install a new water heater is around $1,300, but you can expect to pay between $875 and $1,750, depending on the kind of water heater, the size of the unit, and the professional chosen to complete the work. Tankless water heaters can push your price higher, as installation is more complicated, with prices as high as $3,500. The location and accessibility of your water heater will play a role in the project cost, as those sitting in tight spaces like a crawl space will drive up your labor costs.
Tankless water heaters are more expensive than those with a storage tank, but they come with some impressive benefits that most homeowners find worth the higher investment. Most importantly, they provide unlimited hot water, so you’ll never run out like you would with a storage tank. Tankless heaters are also more efficient, so comparing gallon-for-gallon, you’ll spend less on hot water with a tankless heater. Tankless water heaters are also smaller, require less maintenance, and tend to last longer than storage tank water heaters.
It usually takes a professional water heater installer between two and three hours to remove an existing water heater and install a new tank heater. However, it could take four to five hours if they have to work in a small utility closet or another tight area, like a crawl space. Tankless water heaters have a more complicated installation process, so they will take a bit longer. Additionally, a gas water heater requires a connection to a gas line, and that alone can add about an hour to the installation timeline compared to installing an electric water heater.
It is very difficult and dangerous to install your own water heater, so we strongly recommend against tackling this as a DIY project. Not only will you need to wire your water heater, but you’ll also need to connect plumbing to the intake and outlet. Sweating copper pipes and connecting wiring properly are skills most DIYers don’t have, and even if you do feel confident you can do it, working with water and electricity always leaves the potential for electrocution. Hiring a local water heater installer is well worth the investment.
In most municipalities, a license is not mandatory for water heater installation or replacement. However, we strongly recommend hiring a licensed plumber or water heater installer to handle the work. Licensed installers are far less likely to make a mistake during the installation, which means paying for the experience decreases your risk of a leak and other issues. You can use our state licensing tool to find out if a contractor you’re considering in your area holds a plumber’s license.
