"As a small business owner, I strongly caution others against this HVAC/R company. In over 10 years, they?ve been the least trustworthy and poorest performing contractor I?ve worked with. We experienced repeated service issues, a 25% rate hike without notice, ignored emails, and unreturned quote requests. Worse, we were billed for work that wasn?t done?confirmed twice, including by a third-party inspection with photos. Even when confronted, they deflected and delayed for months. We had to hire another company. They also mis-sized a walk-in freezer due to bad measurements and blamed their supplier. When shown proof it was undersized, they argued with no solution. They later mismeasured again on a replacement bid. Their attitude throughout was defensive, unprofessional, and dismissive. If something goes wrong?and it likely will?they will not stand behind their work. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Local building codes sometimes require sewer ejector pumps to have their own vents. If so, these dedicated vents run upward through the home and exit through the roof. Otherwise, the pump’s vent pipe can connect to an existing vent stack. Regardless of which method you use, venting is an important part of installing a sewer ejector pump because it helps equalize pressure and prevents gases from building up inside your home.

Yes, insulating your pipes can reduce plumbing noises because it dampens vibrations and reduces the transmission of sound, making your home a quieter place. So if you've ever been annoyed by the sounds of water rushing through your pipes or the clanging noises when someone turns on the faucet, insulation can help.

Yes, you can turn your water back on after you hire an emergency plumber and this professional completes the repairs. Your plumber probably will turn on the water for you, just to test the repairs and look for any other problems. Otherwise, if the plumber doesn’t turn it back on, it’s safe to do it yourself. Open the valve or knob slowly to prevent an unwanted rush of air from getting into your pipes.

The lifespan of bathroom pipes is between 20 and 100 years. This is a wide range, so to narrow it down, it helps to know which type of material your pipes are made from. Copper and cast iron have the longest lifespan—between 50 and 100 years—while other materials, such as galvanized steel and brass, last for 50 years or less.

No, shower valves and cartridges are not universal. When researching the type of shower valve you need, make sure you get the model number of the old valve or cartridge and match it to the new one. Otherwise, it might not fit. To find the model number, check to see if the old part has a brand or serial number stamped on it. If you can’t find that number, contact the manufacturer or check their website to see which valves and cartridges fit together.
