"Everything went fine. They would have been an "A" across the board except for what is noted below. The only problem was they did not wear a mask during the install. Even when I asked if they could, they said that it was difficult being they are running in and out all the time. I did not understand that. But we have worked with them before and their work is great, so I let them go without the mask. We just hid far away from them."

"Water heater went out on a Sunday. Called Monday morning and TMI had an opening. Tom arrived at my home on time, assessed the problem, gave a quote, and then completed the job by replacing the water heater. Tom's work was top notch and completed in a timely manner! I would use TMI again without hesitation!"

"This was 100% worth hiring this company! I recently purchased a home that previously had a heavy in home nicotine smoker. I wanted the start fresh and clean the ducts and they made hiring and completing the service so worth it. They were extremely responsive and very reasonable in pricing. I would recommend them to anyone needing duct work cleaning."

"Took a few weeks to get the appointment scheduled. They were a few mins. late showing up, but called to let me know, which is much appreciated. Work was completed in a timely manner. I was not there to witness the work, but my husband was and said they were professional and thorough. Pricing seemed to be very negotiable. I paid $175 to have 10 ducts and one main done, but then saw an ad in the QC Times for about half that price the next week. Oh well. They also offered the duct sanitizer which I declined."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While your AC unit may still run even if its capacitor is going bad, doing so takes a lot more energy, so it can drive up your electric bill and cause further damage to your AC unit’s parts. If you suspect a bad capacitor, it’s important to have a professional diagnose and fix the problem before you continue to run your AC.

Yes, it's normal for air conditioners to leak tiny amounts of water due to condensation. Under normal circumstances, all excess moisture travels to the drain pan to be pumped through your system's drain line. You should call a technician to diagnose the issue if you're noticing frequent leaking or pooling. It's also important to investigate if your homeowners insurance can cover water damage.

A calculation method that your HVAC contractor will use to ensure your system does what it's supposed to is measuring duct output, or its CFM. The calculation requires knowing the cross-sectional area of the ductwork and determining the air speed past any given point within it.

Air conditioners and dehumidifiers are actually quite similar, though they perform different jobs. Dehumidifiers reduce moisture in the air, while air conditioners work to cool the home. A good central AC unit will naturally perform a certain level of dehumidification due to its design, but it will not be able to handle excessive levels of moisture.

Yes, you can clean your air conditioner filter as a temporary fix for cleaning up dirt, but you’ll eventually need to replace it once the dust starts to accumulate. Use a vacuum with a hose attachment to clean your air filter at least once per year or more often if you have pets.
