"I did leave a message for [member name removed], my week was hectic with an unexpected funeral. My apologies for the mis-communication. Best Regards, Ron."
"As sole owner I perform all aspects of running my company solo including: sales, receivables, payables, accounting and of course working with my tools in the field. Invarably, on rare occasion, an oversight occurs. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused my customer. Ron"
I even used his service as a x-mass present for my parents to install a new garbage disposal which my there were very pleased with the work provided.
After giving Ron the whole house tour of the plumbing, he gave me a quote within a day or so, which included new water supply valves, shower/tub kit, vanity faucet, pipe runs, and labor to do the job. He started the work a couple of days later, installing the water supply valves, new pipe run below the kitchen, and the conversion of the bath only to bath/shower setup in the bathroom wall. A special note: I had Ron source the new valves, shower/tub setup, and vanity faucet through his plumbing supplier. The and quot;realand quot; major name brand plumbing gear - the best quality - is sourced through plumbing suppliers and not from big box home improvement stores off the shelf. What you see in stock at big boxes are specially made for those retailers and are often an inferior product which are not the and quot;universaland quot; inner workings those manufacturers sell to specialty stores and plumbing wholesalers. Yes, those big box stores can order the better stuff for you - but you had better know what you are doing, as the internals are NOT always the same inside with the lower priced stuff. So when you replace your faucets or shower rig - get the better product sold through plumbing wholesalers and the better specialty stores. Ron sourced all of the hardware through his Delta authorized distributor, so we know we got the right hardware - and he sold it to us at a competitive price (and yes, we had checked prices on the better options).
Once the primary work was done, I arranged with Ron to do the final install of the shower/tub fixtures, vanity with new faucet, and fresh install of the toilet with new flange and seal, as well as a and quot;found laterand quot; smaller than pinhole leak in a joint of the kitchen sink cold water supply, just to make sure that the bathroom got a professional install after all of the drywall, paint and tile work. He returned after the bath remodel work was done to do these finishing details and top off our bath remodel the right way.
There are two kinds of plumbers/contractors: There are those who do and quot;handymanand quot; quality work, and there are CRAFTSPEOPLE. Ron is the latter. He's also an artist in his spare time, so there's more than a tangential connection to looking at his trade as and quot;artand quot;. It's true of every person you might consider hiring for home improvement, whether it's drywall, electrical, paint, or tile - the and quot;artistsand quot; are the ones you want to hire if you want it done right - those who go beyond the basic job and get the details right so it looks right as well as works right. So not only did we find a plumber to do the necessary work, we found a plumber PERIOD, who will be called when we rebuild the kitchen - or any time we need plumbing issues addressed - Ron will get that work.
Plumbing isn't cheap, but considering all that he did for that $1265 - everything described above - a very good value. I would also add that I much prefer dealing with individuals instead of larger companies - the one selling us the job is the one DOING the job, so there's no miscommunication and a full understanding of what we want. Ron also gets to keepall of the fruits of his labor - low overhead that he can pass the savings on to you.
So on every front - price, quality of work, timeliness, and just a really good guy to work with - my highest recommendation.
Went beyond what was asked to make sure everything was done right and safely. Friendly, courteous, and respectful.
