They initially forgot about our appointment, but came soon after we called to remind them. They were here about an hour and cleared a large clump of roots from our pipes, resolving the issue. The cost was $175, which I thought was reasonable."

Most gas stoves either have a shutoff valve inside the oven drawer compartment or behind the stove wall. Construction regulations require installing a shutoff valve within six feet of the appliance. So, if you can’t find the valve on the appliance, look around the connecting gas pipes within the six-foot radius.

Deteriorated seals, O-rings, or gaskets are common culprits behind a leaky sink after you’ve turned off the water—especially if your sink is older than 15 years. Inspect each of these mechanisms in your sink for signs of corrosion or looseness, then replace the worn-out part to fix it. Older sinks may be worth replacing if several of the parts are worn-out.
