"I was very happy with the results. They were very professional, allowed me input on the stain color (which was matched incredibly well to my floors and existing trim), and cleaned up after every day (the windows took three partial days to stain & seal). They were very flexible to my schedule and made it very easy for me. To do the estimate and review the job they worked within my schedule versus making me change my schedule to match theirs. My windows look awesome now! I will definitely have them back and I would recommend them to anyone."

"We hired Rick and team to remodel two rooms in our house - the dining room and office. Full scope included wallpaper, wainscoting, painting and installing new light fixtures including wall sconces and pendant lights. Rick was prompt in his responses and got the project off the ground quickly - great communication throughout, started and ended work on time, and the result exceeded my expectations. I would definitely work with Rick and team again."

"We received the quote on 10/13/2014, but we're unable to start the work until 1/23/2015 due to our work and travel schedule. Huber still honored our quote from 3 months prior. He started on a Friday with one other crew member and carefully taped up plastic barriers to prevent the construction dust from spreading. My husband and I were extremely impressed with how much they accomplished on the first day. They laid the first coat of mudding and sanded the master bedroom and bath, they repaired the drywall in the dining and living room including other minor repairs that were not included in the quote without asking for more money. They also removed all the textured drywall from the family room ceiling. The second one day they installed the new drywall in the family room ceiling, including taping and mudding. They also fixed drywall taping in the kitChen ceiling without bumping up the quote. They were prompt each day until the repairs were complete. They were professional and respectful of our home and the quality of work was excellent. Should we have any other repairs, we would not hesitate to use them again!

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

Using a fabric softener solution is a popular and low-cost DIY method for removing wallpaper, but its effectiveness is limited. While it may work on some types of wallpaper, it is unlikely to be successful on vintage styles, and there is no evidence that it is more effective than other removal methods. There are also several potential downsides: the solution can leave behind a residue that may damage your walls or interfere with the adhesion of new wallpaper. Additionally, this method can create a strong, overpowering aroma that takes a long time to dissipate, making it a poor choice for homeowners sensitive to smells.

Yes, you can pay someone to strip wallpaper. Before you hang new wallpaper, you should hire a local wallpaper removal service to prep the surface properly. Wallpaper removal pros cost $0.55 to $1.50 per square foot or $500 to $700 per room. Prices vary by room size and removal technique, as some options are more labor-intensive.

While many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, they may not adhere as well in humid environments as traditional wallpaper. For best results, choose a vinyl or polyester-based wallpaper, as these materials are more durable and water-resistant. Good ventilation is also crucial to reduce humidity from steamy showers. In bathrooms with high moisture and inadequate ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.

You may end up with extra wallpaper once your project is finished. Hang on to that wallpaper, as you may need to use it to patch up areas that get damaged later on. If you have a lot of excess wallpaper, try getting creative with it. You can use it to line the inside of a cabinet or drawers, for example.

Many peel-and-stick wallpapers aren’t moisture-resistant, so if you install them in high-humidity rooms, mold can grow behind the wallpaper. It’s best to reserve peel-and-stick wallpaper for bedrooms, living rooms, and other rooms with lower humidity levels. Not only does this minimize the risk of mold growth, but it also keeps the wallpaper from bubbling or peeling.
