"Working with Chicagoland Home Products for my closets has been an excellent experience. We initially did four shelving projects with them a few years ago. They did such an excellent job and the closets and pantry have held up beautifully, so it was a no-brainer to have them complete my primary bedroom walk-in closet this month. Tammy is a pro and probably the nicest person you’ll ever meet! She remembered exactly who I was, even after a few years, and pulled up the previous design for my primary closet. We tweaked a few things to ensure I was happy and booked the install. The installers showed up on time, wore shoe covers without me asking, were very friendly, and completed my closet perfectly. I love it! I plan on working with Chicagoland Home Products in the future and recommend them to everyone."

"I couldn’t be happier with the work done on my two bathroom remodels. From start to finish, the handyman was professional, reliable, and extremely skilled. He paid close attention to every detail and made sure everything was done right—not rushed, not cut corners. Both bathrooms were completely transformed, and the quality of the workmanship truly shows. The tile work, fixtures, finishes, and overall design came together beautifully. He communicated clearly throughout the project, showed up on time, kept the work areas clean, and was always respectful of my home.
What impressed me most was his problem-solving ability and pride in his work. Any unexpected issues were handled quickly and correctly, and he made sure I was satisfied every step of the way.
If you’re looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and talented handyman for bathroom remodeling (or any home improvement project), I highly recommend him. I would absolutely use his services again and confidently refer him to family."

"Designer (Todd Moss) visited my home, inspected & measured the closet and designed a 3-D computer rendering of the planned work. Todd spent a couple hours with me reviewing the design and making modifications until I was satisfied. A couple of weeks later when I was ready to go ahead with the work the installer arrived on time, and did excellent work. The installer brought all his own tools and materials, went right to work and cleaned up after himself prior to leaving. I would like to make a note here that I absolutely believe the work was top notch and I don't think the cost was punitive, but I do think that when we started looking at spending $2k on a closet, we had to ask ourselves to re-evaluate our priorities. We went ahead with the work, but we'll probably think twice about similar work in the future. However, if you are going to do this and you want the best people regardless of cost, then you will NOT find a better company than All About Closets."
Costs depend on material type, size, and additional features like lighting or sliding doors.
Yes, books are typically heavier than clothes, unless you have a collection exclusively of paperbacks or comic books. That’s why packing lots of books warrants careful planning and consideration. Consider packing up your reading collection first to determine whether you need to downsize it before loading it into your moving truck.
Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.
When storing your clothes long-term, first consider the container's breathability. While plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or vacuum sealing may be great options for short-term storage, they won’t help your clothes hold up in the long term. Breathable plastic boxes and fabric bags help with airflow, prevent mold or mildew from building up, and allow proper airflow.
You can modernize an old-looking closet by just painting it, but beyond that, consider electric elements like recessed or accent lighting. If this is a large and deep closet, you can consider adding an island to the middle or a nice ottoman on a rug. Luxury closets will have even more items, like felt-lined drawers for watches and jewelry, in-wall safes, electronic shoe storage, or a tablet catalog of their items.
