"Called Crown Plastering to hang blue-board and apply Kalcote. This is an office remodel of a doctor to create a new outpatient therapy clinic. Total area of the building is approximately 2500 square feet. He subs out the hanging, but does the plaster work. We used a textured finish and am very happy with the job Billy has done. We have a combination of exposed roof deck and drop ceilings. In some areas where the partition walls do not go to the ceiling, he had to put metal corner bead on the top of the wall and the finish is straight, level and crisp. We did have a hiccup in the estimate (before the hanging of drywall) because of miscommunication, but I do feel that the cost of the job was where we expected it to be. If I have a job larger than a basic repair I will call Billy again."

"Carmen and his team were at our home to install drywall and we hired him separately to do our fireplace stone install. His attention to detail and hard work ethic is unseen these days. He did a beautiful job, worked with us to pick the perfect grout color, design of the stone, etc. and then cleaned up so nicely each day. After building a house, we’ve seen the full range of contractors and Carmen stuck out as one of the really professional ones! Can’t recommend enough!"

You should not leave drywall outside, especially overnight or in a wet, humid climate. Exposure to rain and humidity can damage the drywall, weakening its structural integrity and making it susceptible to mold growth. If you must leave drywall outside during a project, be sure to cover it with a tarp or keep it inside a storage shed to protect it. Even drywall intended for exterior projects requires a protective moisture barrier. For best results, store any extra drywall in a dry area away from the elements.

Plaster is a pretty tough surface, but it can still sustain damage from things like bumping against it, water issues, dampness, extreme humidity changes, and plain old age. Most plaster walls last hundreds of years and will only be taken down to the base layer when major repairs are required. You should always hang drywall from the top down. Starting at the top makes it easier to create a straight, tight line between the ceiling and the wall. Any gaps that occur will be at the bottom, where they are easier to manage. You can either cut the bottom piece of drywall to fit the remaining space or cover the gap with baseboard trim. Additionally, starting at the top is physically easier, as you won't have to fit the top sheet into a tight space between the lower sheet and the ceiling, or try to balance the upper sheets on the lower ones while securing them.
