"Used them for carpet cleaning prior to selling my house. Only regret is not knowing about them sooner. The whole process is clean, easy, and I didnâ t lift a finger. Would definitely recommend Greenwood becoming part of your annual or semi annual carpet maintenance routine."

"Mike did a great job on our carpets! He was very personable and knowledgeable. Our carpets look amazing. He was able to remove a few stains that we had and the carpet dried incredibly fast! His prices are very reasonable and beat most of the competition. We would definitely recommend Red Carpet Cleaning Quad Cities!!"

"Came on very short notice to save the day from sewage backup in our basement. Carpet has no padding but still had been stewing for nearly a week. But their anti-microbial and deodorizing really did the trick! Final bill matched their phone estimate so no punches pulled. Very efficient & professional. Had to move furniture around and very careful. Good guys!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Carpet installers use furniture sliders or blankets to protect your furniture during the installation process. They handle each piece with care to minimize the risk of damage. Additionally, they may employ techniques such as lifting and shifting furniture rather than dragging it across the floor to prevent scratches or other marks. If you have particularly delicate or heavy items that need to be moved, discuss special handling with the installers beforehand.

Smaller carpet installations may take less than a day, while full-home installations can take several days. However, your carpet installation timeline will ultimately depend on a few factors, including the number of rooms you’re renovating, the project’s total square footage, and the carpet type. Installation will take longer if your carpet company needs to repair your subfloor or remove old tile flooring.

Carpet installation typically starts with removing the old flooring, preparing the subfloor, laying underpadding for cushioning, and securing the new carpet with tack strips, making precise cuts to fit room dimensions.

If you have a dark carpet and are going for a lighter look, you should replace it, rather than dyeing, since you can only go darker with dye. If your stains are too heavy to mask with carpet dye or the carpet is more than 10 years old, you should also consider replacing it.

A transition piece between carpet stairs and wood flooring isn't always necessary. A transition piece separates two types of flooring in between rooms and areas, like carpet and vinyl. Because the carpet on the stairs tucks into the seam, you can’t see the fringes, and there is no need to hide anything. However, you can use a stair cap if your stairs have a nose.
