We do sheetrock and roofing. Roofing consists of Shingle Tear off's, new roofing installation, New decking if needed(sheets of wood underneath shingles). Sheetrock would consist of insulation if needed ,new sheetrock, sheetrock mud, the outside corners of walls. Will be ready for paint. I Have been in this line of work for about 10 years. I am looking to make a living and go in my own direction. Everything I do is to the homeowners standards and nothing less.

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, as drywall mud is going to have some uneven spots and bumps after application. Such imperfections are going to be visible after everything dries and even after you paint the wall, so you want to remove them. Learning how to sand drywall, taking your time, and following drywall sanding tips can help you have the best results.

Yes, you can usually add a pocket door to an existing wall if it’s not load-bearing. If you don’t know, check with a professional. Installing a pocket door on a non-load-bearing interior wall is easiest, with no hidden electrical, plumbing, or ductwork. If you don’t know how to check this, hiring a pro to check for you or completing the project is best.

You shouldn’t leave drywall outside overnight, especially if you live in a wet or humid climate. The moisture from humidity, rain, or other elements can damage the drywall, making it weaker and susceptible to mold growth. Stash any extra drywall in a dry area away from the elements to protect it from moisture.

The time it takes for thinset to dry is determined by your room’s ambient temperature and humidity levels. Assuming the average humidity level is around 40% with an average temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, thinset can dry within 48 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity can extend the curing process beyond 72 hours, while high heat and zero humidity can shorten the curing process. However, thinset can crack if it dries too fast.

When you are learning how to tape and mud drywall, waiting for things to dry requires a lot of patience. So how long does drywall mud take to dry? On average, it takes about 24 hours. However, it depends on things like the thickness of the mud, as well as the room’s temperature, humidity, and ventilation. Using thin layers of mud in a warm, low-humidity room with good airflow reduces average drying time. You also could speed up drying time by making use of hot drywall mud, which consists of a powder that you mix with water, instead of using pre-mixed mud.
