Recently they have many loopholes so that they are not responsible for replacing items. I had a similar issue with a water heater. They had previously installed it years ago but refused to replace it because they said it was improperly installed. They were the one who installed it. They stated that code had changed. The repair person that the code had been in place when they installed it."
