"Great. The crew arrived on time and the foreman explained the job they were about to do. They begin by hanging plastic sheeting to ensure the dust would be minimal while they busted out 1 foot of the basement floor. They covered the basement stairs before the work began to ensure that it was proctected. As the construction progressed, others in the crew began the trenching of the run-off pipe to keep the water from re-entering the basement.
They encountered difficulties due to a tree root that was blocking the piping. They overcame this problem by routing around the tree root by using a flexible tube that worked very well. They worked very well together and were very jovial although this work is very difficult and laborious.
The foreman inspected the work at each step to ensure it was done correctly. The sump pump was installed and the filler rock and seep drain piping was installed. Concrete was smoothed over the top of the channel and the routing of the drain pipe completed, even attaching the outside downspout to the new run off. After complete, everything was cleaned up and the final process was discussed with my wife and I.
We are very happy with the results and look forward to a dry basement.!
Great job, Greentree Waterproofing.

"Jeffrey completed our work on 8/2/21 in a very professional manner and kept us updated during the entire project. We had to have new drainage installed to take the water away from the house and had to have our driveway lifted and cracks filled. He cleaned up the area and even later the grass back where he had to dig trenches in our front yard."

I am a jack of trades independent contractor/ handyman with 10+ years experience. I am not a licensed plumber, licensed electrician, or licensed roofer. With that said it's easier to just tell you the things that I don't do. I do not do drain work, I do not replace electrical lines or panel boxes, I do not replace plumbing lines which includes water and gas, and I do not replace roofs. Aside from that I can do everything else, and have the tools to do so.

"Dimitri did a very good job on our hallway. He managed to paint a very tight corner without getting any grey paint on our newly installed white trim. He has a very steady hand with the brush. The grey paint did bleed through the tape onto the baseboard trim in a couple locations but he made certain to repaint the trim and not just leave it up to us to fix. That was very professional of him.

"Roger is a great guy and his crew did a wonderful job remediating our flooding issues by putting in drainage systems that divert water around our house for some very serious flooding issues. They also installed a sidewalk to divert water and a drainage system under the sidewalk. They worked very hard and they were very courteous and kind."

"We hired SAL to install new ceramic tile floors in our hall bath, master bath, & master hallway. They also put in new 3/4 cherry hardwood floors in my master bedroom. The craftsmanship was immaculate. He shows up on time, worked on my job everyday till it was done, cleaned up at the end of the day, & most importantly was very respectful to me & my family. I am so pleased with the work that I would recommend SAL to everyone!!!! Great work, great price, great guy!!!

FAQs for drain pipe installation projects in Maroa, IL

The regulations around whether drain pipe installers need to hold licenses or certifications differ based on where you live and the type of drain pipe installed. Municipalities have varying rules and regulations about who can and can’t perform plumbing work. However, we recommend hiring a certified plumber to install or modify your drain lines. Licensed plumbers will perform a high-quality, professional installation, which translates to a lower risk of clogs and leaks in the future. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to confirm the license status of your potential plumber before hiring them to install your drain pipe.

The cost to install a drain pipe is $600 on average, but the total can range between $150 and $2,000. Some cost factors that influence your project price include the type of drain, the area’s accessibility, the proximity of existing drain lines, and whether you’re installing a new drain or replacing an old one. Replacing the p-trap or s-trap under a single fixture will usually cost around $150, while replacing a main drain pipe can cost well over $2,000.

Plumbers will typically take one to two hours to install a new drain pipe, but that timeline can vary based on the area’s accessibility, the drain length, and the type of drain line. Replacing an easily accessible p-trap under a sink could take as little as a half an hour, while replacing a larger section of drain line behind the wall could take as long as three to four hours. When hiring a plumber for your specific installation, ask them to provide an estimated timeline to get a more accurate assessment.

You might need a permit to modify or repair any portion of your plumbing system, including drainage lines, depending on where you live. In some areas, simple replacements of existing drain lines don’t require a permit. We recommend asking your drain pipe installer or your local building department about permitting requirements. In many cases, only certified plumbers can pull plumbing permits, so you’ll usually need to leave the permit application to your professional. The fee for the permit will be passed to you on your project bill, though.

We highly recommend leaving the work of replacing drain pipes to a professional plumber. Drain pipes are a key part of your plumbing system, and making mistakes during the installation or even using the wrong size pipes for your specific fixture can lead to an elevated risk of leaks and clogs. Additionally, drain pipes prevent harmful sewer gas from entering your home, so hiring a professional plumber is essential to keeping the risk of leaks and clogs low and avoid reducing your indoor air quality.
