When I started to practice this job. I didn’t realize the help I was giving to our boss and to the home or apartment that we were working on. To know that one day someone was going to go live there. Know every time I help a costumer I do realize that with my hard work I can achieve making somebody happy. That’s my goal in life.

"Very good experience. Chad (owner) came out a couple days after I contacted him, reviewed my house, and gave me a quote on the spot. After I signed a contract, I wanted to change colors and Chad had a color wheel waiting for me at a paint store in our neighborhood so my wife and I could pick a color we wanted. The painters showed up on time, were very friendly and efficient. They spent a whole day (4 people) caulking the cedar (many cracks, in between boards, and then painted two coats of stain, and fixed a few woodpecker holes. Everyone involved answered all my questions, and we could not have been happier with the quality of the work. I will use Elite Finishes for all my future painting needs."

"The project turned out great! Progressive Restoration was awesome to work with. They were decisive, efficient, and skilled. Marc was super responsive, and the pricing for the job was more than fair. They will be our 1st call for any future carpentry work that comes up at our house. Highly recommend!"

"I was very pleased with their work, professionalism and punctuality.  They were most courteous and pleasant to work with.  The work took about 3 weeks before completion.  I would definitely hired them again.
Our thanks to Angies List for having directed us to them."

"I hired them to paint the house, but they also do carpentry and they built great shelves for me and a bed, which looks awesome. They did a great job on all my projects. Also, the tile guy who I hired did a lot of rotten work and left a lot of stuff unfinished, and they finished his work for me reasonably, including stain, baseboard and quarter round. They always showed up when they said they were coming and they finished in a timely manner. Best of all, they didnâ t complain when I asked them to repaint stuff and often they didnâ t charge me for it, which is good because I change my mind a lot. Additionally, they were able to offer their opinions when I asked them about colors and ideas for building stuff. Most of all, they were pleasant, friendly and I enjoyed their company. I mustâ ve texted them a million times and called them frequently, and they always answered me and got back to me soon. All in all, a good experience!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Ideally, it's best to stain your dock once per year. Applying stain doesn't just keep it looking nice and new; it also helps extend the dock’s lifespan. Since you want to ensure water levels are at their lowest, it's best to have this project done by a professional dock repair service in the cooler autumn or early winter months.

The best exterior paint for the job of painting your front porch depends on the material you’ll be painting. Acrylic paint is often recommended for a wooden porch as it’s durable and easy to apply. If your porch is made of concrete, you’ll need to find a formula suited to that material.

Wood stains last anywhere from two to five years, depending on exposure to the elements, your local climate, the type of stain, and the surface it’s on. For instance, vertical surfaces last longer than horizontal surfaces. Some types of woods, like dense hardwoods, will require a recoat yearly, as they are too dense for the stain to absorb. In any event, apply a recoat every 2 to 4 years. As for storage, a can of unopened stain can last up to 5 years, though results may vary.

The best time to paint your deck is when temperatures are neither too cold (below 60 degrees) nor too hot (above 85 degrees). Always paint your deck when there’s no risk of rain. For fast-drying paint like acrylic or latex, ensure your deck can dry for at least four hours. Oil-based paints take longer to dry and may require 48 hours to completely cure.

Apply a wood stain or sealant to properly maintain a wood deck railing and keep it looking new. Sealants protect wood from moisture and weathering. Regularly inspect the railing for loose screws, damaged balusters, and other signs of wear to make timely repairs. Routinely clean the railing using mild soap, water, and a soft bristle brush.
