"Noah Deck Repair did an outstanding job on repairing, power washing and staining my deck. They were professional and were able to accommodate my schedule. They also were able to expedite the process given that rain was in the forecast in the upcoming days. I highly recommend them for any deck repairs or staining project that you might have."

"Marcus and his employees did a fantastic job on our house.  He totally prepped the house by scraping away old paint and rotted wood, power washing the exterior and removing broken windows and boards.  He worked with temperatures in the high 90's and finished in the time period he specified.  We contacted him from overseas and he made all arrangements with us in a prompt and professional manner.  I was 100% confident that he would produce a quality product and I was certainly not disappointed.  The house looks absolutely beautiful and crisp, well painted.  I am sure the house will look great for years to come.  Marcus also assured me that he used a top grade paint that will have longevity in all weather conditions for years to come.  I would highly recommend him to others and would use him again for future work.  He was friendly, professional, courteous and dependable.  It was exactly the type of service we expected from someone who could give us quality work from thousands of miles away!  TOP NOTCH!"

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Space deck handrail posts four to six feet apart. If the posts are more than six feet apart, the railing will be less able to withstand lateral forces and is more susceptible to breaking. Additionally, railing posts that are more than six feet apart may not be up to code, and you may face fines and be required to reinstall the posts to bring them up to code.

Both composite and PVC decking are excellent alternatives to wood. However, while composite is moderately priced and lasts around 30 years, PVC costs more and lasts longer. PVC is also more durable, though both materials are more durable than wood decking. Ultimately, the choice between composite and PVC decking will come down to your budget and preferences.

The “best” material is in the eye of the beholder, as each common decking material boasts its pros and cons. Poured concrete is the best budget-friendly option, but composite wood brings high-grade aesthetics without breaking the bank. Wood is the most traditional material, but it requires more maintenance than some other materials. In other words, do your research before settling on a deck material to find the one that’s best for your pool.

PVC decking tends to be cooler than composite because the material is less dense and absorbs less heat. However, it depends on the deck’s color. A dark-colored PVC deck may run hotter than a light-colored composite deck. If you’re concerned about your deck getting too hot, it’s best to stick to a light color such as beige or gray.

No, termites do not eat Trex or any other composite decking brand. Termites eat cellulose, of which composite decking like Trex contains very little compared to natural wood. This feature can help justify the higher Trex decking costs if you live in an area with abundant termites.
