"Lighthouse Restoration Group replaced and upgraded my electrical service — two new panels, 400 amps total — and it’s by far the cleanest install I’ve seen across all the upgrades and repairs we’ve done at our house. The before photo shows the dangerous and sloppy work that accumulated by probably dozens of different electricians. These guys saw this and were appalled. Now see the after. Every wire is perfectly routed, tensioned to spec, and labeled. It looks like something out of a training manual. What really stood out wasn’t just the craftsmanship but the professionalism. They checked every single outlet, light, and appliance in the house — not “most,” not “some.” Every one. They even torqued each lug exactly to manufacturer spec. No shortcuts, no guesswork. "In January 2023, Steve Durkiewicz stepped into a project that had previously become a financial nightmare and turned it into the dream project that we had first imagined. We had previously hired and paid ($1,765.00) a different person/business that claimed to be a licensed and experienced electrician, to install new lighting in our kitchen and home office, as well as install recessed lighting in our family room. But the job was a disaster, unprofessional and substandard - e.g. all electrical wiring was incorrect, ceiling drywall wire routing in relation to studs/framing was incorrect (i.e. ceiling drywall could not be repaired due to lack of space), etc. Steve came in and repaired all of that. With patience and professionalism, he explained every step as he made corrections, and still completed the task in a timely manner! Thank you, EMF Electric! You'll definitely hear from me again!"

A piggyback circuit breaker, also known as a tandem or double-stuff breaker, combines two separate circuits into a single slot in a breaker panel. This design allows adding more circuits without a larger panel, making it a space-saving solution. Each breaker in the piggyback unit operates independently, protecting two circuits in one standard breaker slot. This is especially useful in older panels with limited space for additional breakers.

The National Fire Protection Association reports that almost half of reported electrical fires are caused by electrical distribution and lighting equipment. The main culprit behind these fires is often frayed, worn, or faulty wiring, particularly in closed-off and concealed areas like attics, where fires can start and burn undetected for long periods.

Though they may seem similar at a quick glance, outdoor electrical outlets are different from indoor electrical outlets in that they have extra safety precautions to prevent electrical hazards. These include GFCIs, which some indoor outlets have, and a watertight cover that allows you to use electricity from the outlet even on a rainy day.
