I'd prefer the smaller projects. The things most people might just not want to or have the time to do. Personally I've found the faster you can get in and out the more everyone is happy. I plan on keeping it simple. You'll be hiring only me. I prefer to be a one man show. Unless it's just an extra set of hands I need, I'll be doing the work. None of that he said she said communication breakdown. I hate that. I'm organized, have a good eye for detail, and will preform any job as if it was on my own house. I'm 45 with 20+ yrs construction experience. I'm more than competent with bigger scopes of work but honestly I'd rather not waste your time. I'm a trim carpenter first and can do most everything else in construction but HVAC electrical plumbing or block work (foundations) Even if it's just pictures you need hung, down to that some assembly required project you don't have time to do I'm your guy. You have that door thats never open or shut right i bet i can fix it. Your buying new cabinets from a big name seller but dont want to pay their installation fee? I can do it just as well if not better and save you hundreds. Just hand me the layouts and im off. Give me a try on something small. See if you like my work. I won't disappoint. If I fail you I fail myself. Estimates are free. If you prefer just an hourly wage it's 40/hr

"I went to Angi to look for someone to put a small door up on an opening in the wall above my staircase in the living room. The closest I could get to what I needed done was drywall install. So that’s the listing I asked for with Angi. I got 2 companies. I requested quotes from both companies , but neither one responded with a quote. I received a text from someone about the job I needed done. I never got a name from the person that texted me or the company he worked for. In my haste to get the job set up I didn’t ask his name or what company he worked for. He asked me to send pictures of the job I wanted done and I did that and he quoted me a price of $ 220.00. I accepted. We texted back and forth ma couple times more for what day and time to do it. In all those texts I never got a name for him or the company he worked for. I saved the texts back and forth between us and when I did not have a receipt for the work done I used our texts to one another to reach out with another text about needing a receipt. Instead I got a call back from a quite rude person that when I answered she said what’s going on here. She did not identify herself to me or why she was calling me at first. She never did identify herself to me but I finally figured out that she was calling about the text I sent about needing a receipt. She was concerned that I wasn’t happy with the work done. I told her that was Okay, but I needed a receipt for the work done because I didn’t get one. She seemed pretty dismissive of me when she found out that’s all I needed. I told her that I had to have a receipt and that it had to have the Company name address and phone number on it, had to have what the job was that I hired them to do on it, how much they quoted as the price, what form I paid them with ( it was paid in cash), date the work was done, that the work was fully completed and that it was paid with cash and paid in full. She said she could do that and I thanked her for her time. She also told me that they were the company that did the work at my home, she read off my address to me. So I’ve been waiting for a receipt to show up in my mail and so far I have not received it. The company I believe that did this job for me is; LDM Tile and Remodeling LLC. I’m going to include the phone number that I received the texts from about the job. That number is:1 708 639 5493. I have no idea who this person is or what the name is for this person"

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

The most expensive part of adding a bathroom will always be the wet areas, such as the toilet, sink, and shower. Considering a half bathroom won’t have a shower, you’ll save quite a bit of money there versus adding a full bath with a shower or tub. Using qualified professionals is a requirement when dealing with plumbing and electricity, so while you can do some of the addition yourself, leave these two to the pros.

Before removing any fixtures or buying materials, you should plan the remodel out on paper, including ideas for how you want the project to look and what you’d like to keep or replace. Then, you should consult with a contractor in your area to iron out the details.

Renovations that add functionality or more comfortable floor space generally add the most value when remodeling your home. Attic or basement finishing can add floor space without altering the home's structure, saving you renovation money while adding valuable space. Smaller improvements, such as installing smart-home components or replacing entry doors and windows, also experience high ROIs.

Completing a full standard bathroom remodel offers the best value, providing an average 70% return on investment. However, some of the best bathroom upgrades don’t involve a full rip-out and remodel. If you want to save money while still making a splash, you can increase resale value by upgrading to a walk-in shower, resurfacing a tub, retiling, or adding or upgrading cabinets and vanity units.

Whether walk-in showers are worth it depends on your goals and priorities. For many, walk-in showers are worth the investment due to the increased accessibility, the minimalist aesthetic, and the ease of cleaning. They’re particularly beneficial for households that want low-threshold access for aging in place. However, if you love taking baths and want more privacy and a warmer showering space, a walk-in shower may not be the best bathroom upgrade for you.
