"We are asking to close case as the full amount of money on proposal wasn’t paid. However they did pay for the work that was done except for the additional costs for beam installation. We provided labor and some materials for beam installation. An additional cost that our customer didn’t pay for was for furniture delivery. It is important to mention that our customer told us they lied to their insurance company about a broken pipe that had caused damages to their home. The damages were actually caused by an inflatable hot tub that our customer put inside and forgot to shut off the water which led to their damages. This was mentioned by our customer after we received the signed proposal and work was being done. Therefore, we did have possible suspicions on if they were to take responsibility of paying for our services. The total estimate for the project was 11,095. We asked for 5,500 as the deposit to allow us to buy drywall and plywood materials which had been installed. During the installation, they added to the project, which was to knock down an existing wall. We had recommended to not request this due to concerns of structural integrity and for that there were electrical components inside the wall. We did let them know we do not provide electrical services and that this remodel was not on the proposal that they signed. We did provide them with the number of a local electrician. We also stated to them that we would be willing to do as much work as we could without interfering with electrical. They mentioned that they had a family member who claimed to be able to do electrical work and more, while we were present on the job site the family member showed up and started on electrical work. Because of this , they no longer wanted to work with us and they interfered with completion of project. Over text they insisted on receiving a partial part of their deposit this being 3,500. We denied their offer. They then dropped the sum to 2,000. We had still denied their offer because the work that was done along side the cost of the materials, due to the additional work that was not on the proposal totaled to 7,500. After everything they only gave 5,500 towards the original estimate of 11,095. Regarding the shore wall installation we never asked for the husband to help with this. He kept insisting he would help with the beam installation that wasn’t in the proposal."
