"What can I say about this guy, Lee, and his right hand man, Jason?! Two real pros! Having done carpentry, woodworking, plumbing, and electrical for the past 45 years. I became disabled in the mid '90's up until 2 years ago, when I got my new knee. During all those years, I had to rely on calling someone from the phone book to do the jobs I normally would have done myself. After watching some of these "experts" do their jobs, two destroyed ceilings and a botched fence job, I ended up letting every necessary repair go. I decided to give Angie's List a try when my wife, of 40 years, just couldn't stand her sagging kitchen floor any longer. I found Dimmetts Home Repair Service, and gave them a call. Lee told me when he would come to give an estimate; he was there when he said he would be! I accepted the estimate and Lee told me when he could start the job; again, he was there, bright and early, when he said he would be! Day One: Lee and Jason arrived and began tearing out the entire old floor while my wife and I drank coffee and watched the news. Before I knew it, I walked to the kitchen and found myself staring into my crawlspace. With Jason cutting, and both installing, the 4 x 8' sheets of osb began going down quickly. Probably not as quickly as it could have, had I not been bothering the guys with my constant talking about carpentry, good jobs, bad jobs, etc. At about the 5:00 hour, the sub-floor was installed; not nailed, but glued and screwed down, like it should be. All debris was cleaned up, loaded in Lee's truck, ready to be hauled off. Except for the raw osb floor, you would never know these guys had been here! Day Two: Again, 7:30 ish AM, (not 12 noon or 1:00 PM like my previous ordeals) the guys arrive and begin laying the 30 lb. felt moisture barrier and quickly move on to the 16 boxes of the Pergo flooring. I've got to admit, this is one job I have no experience with. And, looking at all of those individual planks, I thought this was going to be a long, tedious ordeal. But, once again, with Jason doing all the precise cutting and Lee locking them all together, the entire job seemed to fly by! Around 5:00 Lee called me to the kitchen to view the nice, new, and most importantly, FLAT AND LEVEL new wood floor. All scrap was cleaned up, both inside and out, and all dust was vacuumed off new floor. By 5:00 PM the guys were gone. A very pleasant transaction! Lee and Jason are true professionals and all around great guys; nice to talk with, great personalities, and very easy to get along with. They will do it the way you want it done. I had absolutely zero complaints; even minor! And for me, that's unusual, being that my wife knows me as an extreme perfectionist. My estimate was $1215.00 My bill was $1065.00 Only thing left to say..................Hire Lee for any home repairs you might need done. I think you'll be very pleased
"Very professional. Jeromy wore a mask. He was polite and cleaned up the area after the install. I have a Choice Home Warranty and called them for the plumbing repairs. All i had to pay was a contractor service fee. In the future if i need a plumber i will ask for the Company OSP Plumbing in the Henderson/ Las Vegas Nevada area and ask for Jeromy."
While frozen pipes will eventually thaw on their own as temperatures rise, it is not safe to let this happen unattended. As the ice blockage melts, water can become trapped, building up extreme pressure within the pipe. This pressure can cause the pipe to burst, leading to severe water damage, costly leaks, and serious damage to your plumbing system. It is best to handle frozen pipes as quickly as possible. If you do not see any visible damage, you can try to slowly warm the pipes by increasing warm air circulation or applying warm towels. However, if you spot any leaks or damage, you should call a plumber immediately. The best course of action is always to take preventative measures to stop pipes from freezing.
Yes, many people choose to bury their sump pump discharge pipes. When you leave the pipe visible in your yard, you might trip over it or accidentally damage it with your lawn mower. Plus, from an aesthetic perspective, hiding the discharge line underground looks nicer than leaving it out in the open. Before burying a sump pump pipe, review your local building codes to make sure your installation is compliant.
A faulty fill valve is the likely source of noise in your pipes after flushing a toilet. The valve is what’s responsible for bringing in the additional water needed when you flush a toilet. If this valve malfunctions, then it causes a sudden change in water pressure, which results in noises in the pipes.
Recaulk your toilet at least every five years. If you feel like your toilet is getting wobbly before that, it still might be time for a new caulking. Never directly place new caulk over existing caulk because that doesn’t produce lasting results. Also, caulking over existing moldy caulk does not kill out the mold by suffocating it, so if you have mold, be sure to get rid of it before recaulking.
You can buy pipe insulation materials in your local hardware store or in major home improvement stores. You can also shop for insulation online, where you may be able to more easily buy in bulk. When shopping, make sure you know your pipe's dimensions so you can buy the correct size of pipe insulation materials for your pipes.
