Small jobs welcome

"I can't say enough good things about Adam Bishop! (ABG) While isn’t a professional landscaper or gardener, you’d never know it by looking at my yard. He came in and completely transformed the space—tackling a massive weed problem in my garden, neatly edging and bordering all my flower beds, and even getting rid of dead bushes. The level of effort, care, and hard work put into making everything look immaculate was incredible. If you need someone reliable, hardworking, and thorough to clean up your garden beds and outdoor space, I highly recommend reaching out to Adam (ABG)! Jerri Kozlowski,"

"I have always found it hard to find the right person for the job, and I feel so fortunate to have found Vanessa and Joel. They have been very responsive and receptive to my requests and questions. They were polite and professional when they came out initially and provided a very reasonable quote. Due to the weather, there was a little difficulty with the first sealant coat, but what I really appreciated was there quick response and fast solution to fix the issue. They have been out multiple times to re-check their work. Plus, they offered a 5 year warranty on the work. I was so pleased with the garage floor, I even decided to have them do my front stairs! I happily recommend them for anyone in need of epoxying their garage!"

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Exterior paint finishes come in a variety of options, but for concrete, your best bet is to go with an eggshell, satin, or semi-gloss latex paint. All three options are more durable than matte finishes and should help hide imperfections on your home’s concrete surface.

Epoxy coatings for garage floors offer a variety of finish and design options, including:

  • Decorative colored flakes: $10 per 250-pound bag

  • Metallic epoxy: $5–$12 per square foot

  • Rock or stone epoxy: $100 per gallon

  • Acrylic and poly-acrylic sealants: $0.85–$1.15 per square foot

  • Polyurethane sealant: $0.95–$1.10 per square foot

  • Polyurea sealant: $150 per gallon

The biggest downside of sealing concrete is that it needs to be resealed every few years. This routine maintenance can be laborious if you do it yourself and expensive if you hire a professional. Beyond that, sealing concrete can make the surface slippery, which can be dangerous with people with mobility issues, young children, or those with pools near their patios.

Epoxy flooring is used in many outdoor applications. Pebble epoxy flooring, in particular, is a great choice for most areas like porches, patios, and walkways. It adds visual appeal while adding texture using natural materials. The surface, however, can be slick when wet. Consider adding a non-slip additive if the area gets heavy foot traffic or if you live in a wet climate.

Always seal concrete stain to protect against wear and preserve the color. This applies to acid- and water-based stains but not always to concrete paint. Many paints designed for outdoor use contain ingredients designed to protect and waterproof without the need for additional sealant. Fortunately, learning how to seal concrete is something most DIY-savvy homeowners can tackle.
