When I booked the appointment for the water heater replacement, she told me that the service team would be at my house between 2:00 and 3:00. On the day of the service appointment, Matt called at 2:00 to say that he would be at our house at 2:30. He arrived exactly on time and I was happy that they were so punctual. The installation took about an hour and required some minor modifications to existing water pipes, gas pipe, and exhaust pipes because the new tank was not the same size as the old tank. A flexible gas line was installed between the existing black pipe and the new water heater. Many plumbers had estimated 3 hours or even 4 hours for the same job. When the plumbers removed the old water heater and carried it through our house to the truck, some water leaked onto our hardwood floor. Matt made sure to towel dry the water that had leaked out and I appreciated his professionalism. The plumbers were very courteous and friendly too. The new water heater is working fine and I am very happy with the service that was provided.

I have no idea how they stay in business, in my experience Energy Home Insulation Inc. is completely incompetent. First, they did not insulate over the garage even though I have a heated garage, the garage was insulated previous to the fire and the insurance company was paying to have the garage insulated. After I called them to come back and finish the job they sent a couple of high school kids who obviously had no idea what they were doing. The insulation was uneven and several inches less than what was over the rest of the house. The didn't put a barrier around the attic door so insulation fell out onto the garage whenever I opened the attic door . Nor did they clean up after themselves, leaving insulation and junk laying all over in the attic, my garage, the driveway and there were even some bags in the lawn.
Secondly, they did not put in the correct amount of baffles and the ones they did put in were installed incorrectly. I called them again and they sent another high school kid out to look at the issue. He went up into the attic and came down with some pictures on his phone of three baffles. (According to code and the size of my house there should have been at least 20 baffles installed). I went up to the attic, still couldn't see the baffles. I found out later they had put in too few and had covered most of the rest with insulation.
I tried talking to the receptionist (I think her name was Lisa) but she was very rude and dismissive. She said she would discuss the issue with the owner of the company and get back to me. She hasn't gotten back to me yet and I don't expect her to. Truthfully I don't want to have anything to do with that company and wouldn't trust them with anything in my house.
I hired a professional insulation company(I will review them separately) to fix the things Energy Home Insulation Inc. screwed up. Needles to say I would not hire Energy Home Insulation Inc. again and would never recommend them. In fact I strongly urge anyone reading this to use the reviews here at Angie's list and find a reputable, professional home insulation company.

End result - massive air leak under the cardboard. I called Kaufman & Sons and Cliff came out within a few days. He gave me a range of solutions and I chose to "make it right" ... it was a horrible job, pouring two new footings and building two block walls... tying them into existing wall... all in a crawl space with 2 ft of ceiling height. He gave me a "best case and worse case quote" (depending on how the job unfolded) and I asked him to go ahead. I have been studying building and construction work for many years and I can tell true experts quickly with just a few questions. Cliff was clearly an expert. He was able to schedule me sooner than originally expected and arrived punctually. The work was performed to a VERY high standard and the cleanup was excellent... absolutely zero mess (in partially finished basement [where he had to mix concrete]). He told me it went better than expected and billed me BELOW the lowest quote he gave me. Airleaks solved. Job done properly... Fair billing. Excellent communication and professional standards. Highly recommended. FAQs for heating oil service projects in Eureka, IL
To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.
On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.
You save money on heating oil in a few ways:
Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.
Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.
Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.
Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.
Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
