"Overall, the process was terrible. Dan was terrible to communicate with. Dan will only respond in a timely manner to communications from my husband, not from me. That’s insulting on many fronts, but primarily it’s insulting because I am the one paying for this project and the one who owns the home. In the process of sanding our floors, the protective strip of wood between the wood floor and tile floor was removed. Our tiles have been noticeably cracked and damaged. So now we need to redo the floor in the kitchen. A photo was taken from upstairs of our home of the floors. While this photo was taken, the photographer did not realize that they had wood stain on their shoes. There are lovely wood stain foot prints going up the stairs and to the landing. So the carpeting throughout the entire second floor now needs to be replaced. In short, all of the remaining flooring in our home needs to be replaced despite the fact that we bought a home a year ago that needed no new flooring. Dan also experienced multiple delays which kept us out of our home for an additional week. When we were told the home would finally be ready, I showed up and no doors were hung, outlet covers were not on, and vents were not replaced. Dan made it seem like some of these things were items I could manage. Truthfully, I could, but I paid for a service and he should deliver. Also, he handed me the parts of our light switch in our hallway and said, “For some reason this kept falling apart.” Our light switch was not broken when we left, and it is now in multiple parts. Logic would dictate that you broke it. It’s a $2 part, I do not care that it got broken in this process. I do care that he tried to act like he had no clue what happened. Lastly, our steel front door was damaged while he was working here. I would not recommend him due to the fact that he took no ownership in any of his sloppy craftsmanship. I also forgot to mention this, we have to replace all of our baseboards due to damage from his work."

If the transitions are being installed with the flooring and before the baseboards, then they will go under the baseboards. If you also need to know how to fill the gap between the floor and the baseboard, it's best to use a flexible, paintable latex caulk. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dust and debris. Then, apply a smooth bead of caulk along the gap using a caulking gun, and use a caulk-smoothing tool to press and smooth it into place. If the gap is large, you may need to insert backer rod, such as a foam filler, before caulking. Once dry, paint the caulk to match the baseboard for a clean, seamless look.

Most bathrooms can be turned into a wet room, so long as the flooring can be sloped slightly for draining purposes and the room has proper plumbing. A skilled home renovation professional can evaluate your bathroom to determine if it’s a good candidate for converting into a wet room. If you only have one bathroom in your home, a wet room may not be the best idea for resale purposes since many homebuyers like having a bathtub.
