"First time hiring Kitchen and Bath Specialties and working with Joe Laverdiere. He also came over initially to quote a price and then returned to look over the template, which needed adjustment and a new template created. He wanted to ensure that the countertop would be the correct length. He is very knowledge and scheduled our installation for late this week and completed the installation today. He did run into an issue (not of his doing) and was able to handle it. He communicated very clearly to us what we needed to know. We will hire him to install the tiling as well. I highly recommend him."

"David gave me what I thought was a fair price for the work to be done. He asked for 1/2 up front. As a previous small business owner I did not feel this was unreasonable so I paid him 500.00. He estimated the work would take 3 to four days and I thought the same. After several no shows the "mason" showed up. The first clue was he came in a car. According to my wife he was here 2 hours and left, came back for another 2 hours the next day and left again. He said nothing to my wife about leaving or when he would be back. David called a day later to ask about coming out to look over the job and get the rest of the other 500.00. I said he isn't finished and he's only been here 4 hours. So then I looked up the prevailing wage in IL for a mason and found out it is 28.50 an hour. The next day the guy comes back for another 3 hours. David came to look at the work and I walked him around and showed him all of the places that had not been done. So the guy comes back again for about an hour. All told it was 8 hours work, nothing to write home about but it was agreed up front that I wasn't looking for an exposed brick look. I need it tuck pointed well enough so that I could drylock and paint the exposed brick. I will say this was done in the end. The worker left a mess that I and my wife had to clean up, I pointed this out to David as well. I told him I felt he was overly paid for the amount of work preformed and that was the end of it. It's really to bad. It's difficult to get contractors to do small jobs and I had plenty for him to do. I'm not unhappy, just would not hire again"

"I originally met Mr. Washburn when he was recommended to me from a roofing company to fix my ceilings as I had water damage. He did great work, so I contacted him three years later for a complete bathroom remodel and to install new windows on my house. The bathroom was in quite bad shape due to water damage and leaking. Greg worked out a plan for us and really listened to make what we wanted happen. Our bathroom is finished now as of two days ago and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Greg is honest, hard-working, knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, just a great guy! He is very precise and thorough. I got the feeling he was repairing my house like he would his own. He takes pride in doing things right the first time and that's exactly what he did! After the windows, next he is going to install a new water heater for us. Sometime this summer, we plan on hiring Greg again to build a fence for us. "We hired SAL to install new ceramic tile floors in our hall bath, master bath, & master hallway. They also put in new 3/4 cherry hardwood floors in my master bedroom. The craftsmanship was immaculate. He shows up on time, worked on my job everyday till it was done, cleaned up at the end of the day, & most importantly was very respectful to me & my family. "Scott and his team are wonderful. After recently being scammed by a contractor that we hired to remodel my parent's home, I had to quickly find someone who is honest and reliable. I called Illinois Remodeling Consultants and explained our situation to Scott and he was quick to help us. He immediately went over to the property and gave us his honest observations. Because my parents were taken advantage of, he made sure that they did not have the same experience. His prices are completely fair and he even helped us with that. He took care of everything. We are so grateful to have Scott on our side. He is the best project manager and makes sure that everything is done. We are having the bathroom and floors remodeled and the back door fixed. Later this year or next year we will work with him to have the kitchen done. The photos that I am attaching are of the unfinished bathroom, but you can tell the high quality of their work. "The  project went VERY well.  the painting crew was punctual and professional.  The whole project took approx 8-9 days.  As I stated before, a good amount of wall prep was needed, including some plaster repair.   To get all the walls ready for painting, the wall repair was done on both a Saturday and a Sunday...so the painters could come in on a Monday.  In a few areas, a lighter color was being painted over a 'darker' color - and needed more than two coats - Crew of World Painting recognized that issue - and proceeded to simply do what was necessary  - for the painting to look "right".   Great job, beautiful result."
