Drywall can be better than plaster if you’re installing a new wall and want to keep costs low. It’s much cheaper than installing plaster and provides a smooth, uniform surface. First, plaster usually lasts longer than drywall, so long-term costs will usually be lower. Temperature and humidity also play major roles in ceiling cracks flush with the wall.
