We use metal studs in our framing work, and I will be happy to discuss with you why this should be the only framing material you should use in your basement. We had a terrible experience with a former contractor and were a bit shy about hiring another but I am so glad we did! From top to bottom, they performed like professionals and completed the project in exactly the time they specified.
