I'm a sole proprietor. On very rare occasion, I may need to sub-contract a portion of your repairs. I'm centrally located along the shores of Lake Shelbyville, my shop is just SE of Findlay. Generally, we will discuss payment. It largely depends on the scope of the project. You and I will sit down and discuss completion goals, and if a large project, payment may be required in measurable and pre approved stages.

These railings usually need to be at least 36 inches tall, although California and Washington require rails to be 42 inches or taller.

Spindles on a deck may also be called balusters or pickets. While not as important to the structural support of the deck as the rail posts, they play a critical role in ensuring the deck is safe to use by closing in large gaps in the railing. For this reason, balusters must be no more than 4 inches away from one another.

While the chemical, copper-based coating on pressure-treated wood offers protection from rot and pests, it’s not a silver bullet. An added sealant will help protect the wood further, though sometimes the wood is treated in a way that causes premature failure, and this is largely out of your control.
