"Do not go to this ?company? for a fence. This is the worst experience I have ever had. First of all the gate is ginormous. And they put 2 hinges on it thinking that would support the weight? I had this done in February and within a month I can not close the gate because it drags on the ground. I told Alton, the owner I guess, that the gate was too big and he blamed ME. He said I did not request a smaller gate. Last time I looked I was not a gate expert. The fence itself, within 2 weeks the boards started warping, see pics. After I complained he said he would come fix it because ?I am nice?. No, it is because he did not put a 4X4 along the bottom of the fence to tack it down so it would not warp. And, he never came back. Said he would come back and never did. Now I have to pay another guy to fix the fence. Alton said he would do it without labor costs, now I have to pay someone else. He is rude, condescending and has no skill to do this kind of work. Hire at your own risk. "

A good rule for all homeowners is to seal every driveway to protect it. Wait at least three months to seal an asphalt driveway and one month to seal a concrete driveway. You know it’s time to reseal your driveway when it shows obvious signs of wear and tear. It may appear as fading or discolored asphalt, small cracks, and oil stains. Asphalt driveway sealer lasts approximately one to three years. Although the industry standard is to add fresh sealant every two years, this ultimately depends on where you live. Your driveway is subjected to elements like harsh sunlight, freezing temperatures, precipitation, and extra wear and tear that comes from foot traffic and heavy cars. If you start noticing small cracks or uneven drying on your driveway, it’s a sign that your previous seal coat has run its course and your driveway needs a new one.

Costs depend on lot size, sealant quality, labor, and any additional surface preparation.

The three most common types of asphalt are hot asphalt, MC cold mix, and UPM asphalt. Hot asphalt is used most often for paving and patching roadways while it’s hot and workable. MC cold mix asphalt cures more slowly than hot asphalt, but it can be used for temporary patches and repairs in low-traffic areas. UPM is also used cold, but it can be used as a longer-term fix, usable in almost any conditions at almost any temperature.

Though they may look similar, tar and bitumen come from different sources. Bitumen is a petroleum product—extracted during crude oil refining—and is mostly made up of hydrocarbons. Tar comes from burning down organic materials like coal or wood. Bitumen is strictly oil-based, while tar is a mix of compounds from natural sources. Both are used as binders in paving; however, bitumen is the standard for today’s asphalt. Tar use has mostly faded out of road construction.
