"Marc came out and gave me a bid and we scheduled the service around other contractor work. His worker arrived on schedule and did a great job refinishing two bathtub surrounds including one with a fist hole in it and both with screw holes from glass doors. They were extremely dirty (this was a rehab property) and they now look like new. This was much more cost effective than replacing them and I think they look better than new."

"I cannot thank the Tub Company enough for their work! We had rust around the overflow of our bathtub that leaked through and caused damage to our first floor ceiling. We were told by others that there was nothing that we could do except replace the tub and estimates were around $5000! Then, thankfully someone mentioned to look into getting the tub refinished instead. I called The Tub Company (Tubco, Inc) and the owner Lenny answered right away, was so pleasant to talk with and assured me that his crew could help us out. The next day, the serviceman Eli showed up, right on time, and was as pleasant as could be. After a few hours, the tub looks brand new, no sign of rust, and within a couple of days we will be able to use the tub again. I would not hesitate to recommend TheTub Company to anyone with a similar situation!

"There were both good things and bad things about replacing a shower with Signature. The design phase went very well. The designer was helpful in narrowing down ideas and providing feedback while still allowing me to make the final choice. It was for help with design that I initially chose to use Signature. I also knew I would pay a little more for that service. However, after all the initial choices were laid out, some things started to go wrong. First, during install, four holes were accidentally poked all the way through the wall into the connecting room. While the holes were repaired by spackling and sanding over, I was now faced with having to repaint at a minimum a whole wall and possibly an entire master bedroom since the previous home owner did not leave any matching paint. Also after installation was done, I found some unused grout had been dumped at the side of my house by the garage instead of being disposed of properly. The real problem happened several months after the install. The entire faucet apparatus became loose from the wall. I called Signature to report the problem and after a couple weeks they finally sent out the original installer to fix it. It was tightened for a while, but again came loose after a few months. I again reported the problem to Signature and my designer but this time they did not contact me to take care of the problem. I ended up having to pay money to have a regular plumber come and take a look at it. They quickly identified that part of the valve must have broken during installation and instead of having a proper fix when the wall was open, a cheap jerry-built solution was attempted to be used not only on the original install (possibly tried to glue with silicone) but on the first re-fix as well. The plumber even found a drywall anchor used as part of the incorrect fix attempt. Long story short is the design and materials are good, but beware that customer service after the sale is terrible and your might be responsible for paying more for someone else to come fix their mistakes. I understand things rarely go perfect, but if they had owned up to their mistakes and fixed them properly, I would have considered using them again, albeit with a different installer who does not take shortcuts."

"I am extremely pleased with the job completed by Jason and his team. This team is professional and very attuned to detail. There were a few things, not related to the kitchen, that came up during the project, which I asked the team to address. They handled them and still were able to work on the kitchen project. The team worked up until they had to wait on the counter top installation; then, returned and finished the job. The job was started on 5/20/19 and was finished on 6/21/19. I highly recommend Honey Do's Solutions, which I have used for other projects."

"Water Leak Specialist worked with us from July thru early October.  We picked a company that did both mold removal and fixed leaks.  We had a small basement leak for some time but didn't really get worried about it until this past extremely rainy June.  We knew we had a bit of mold but it just grew uncontrollably once all that rain came.  A lot was hidden due to the huge bookcases we had in front of the affected walls.  Water Leak Specialists came in to give us a bid and immediately smelled and saw the danger.  We hired them on the spot.  They fit us into their already busy schedule so they could first work on the mold due to the danger.  Our basement door was swollen shut from all the rain and we couldn't get out the affected items so WLS fixed the door for us.  They worked two days before even asking for any $$.  They treated the area first so we could get down there and go thru some items.  They came back and tore out all the bad wallboard, treated the area for mold to be sure, left an air filter for days, etc.  We were scheduled for a trip so we waited to have the leak fixed until we got back.  They did go around the perimeter of the house and repaired holes in concrete, walls, etc., to help with water leakage.  They put in a new sump pump as the one we had wasn't working.  Another great rain revealed a major problem with a gutter drain because our basement ended up flooding.  They answered the phone late at night as we didn't know what to do and came bright and early the next morning to leave equipment  hat would soak up the water.  They also found the problem outside and fixed that.  Later we had them check for drain tiles to see if we needed to add drain to sump pump.  We didn't have any  and they did that, too.  They concreted the floor after adding the sump pump lines/drains.  Again, a lot of work done before asking for $$.  They always came when they said they would, always answered the phone or returned phone calls.  Were very polite and mindful of the cats that lived in my basement.  Carried away all of our infected moldy items,  We were extremely pleased with their work.  The fact they were concerned for our safety regarding the mold and fitted us into their schedule to take care of that meant a lot.  If there are any other leakage problems in the future, we will call them again - I trust their work.  Bryan and his company are A #1!

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Replacing the countertop with another that fits the same size and cut out shouldn't take longer than four to five hours. The installation job entails removing the plumbing connections, unscrewing the old sink connectors, removing the countertop, placing and gluing the new countertop, and connecting the plumbing hookups.

Putting in a new bidet attachment or seat requires as little as 30 minutes. Installing a full bidet toilet or stand-alone bidet might take one to three hours. Additionally, if you need a GFCI outlet installed, that can take 30 minutes to three hours depending on the complexity of the job.

The cost depends on the parts, labor, extent of damage, and whether extensive plumbing modifications are required. Typical repairs cost $150-$300.

If you know the job is going to be extensive (and you don’t like surprises), hiring a Roto-Rooter specialist may make sense for you. You’ll know how much you’re going to pay right away.

That said, hiring the best plumber isn’t solely about price. If you've worked with a plumber you trust before or have a list of plumbing services you need tackled at your home, working with a plumber might be a better choice for you.

Many homeowners stress about cleaning before an emergency plumber arrives, but you’re far better off doing the following while you wait for your plumber to get to your home:

  • Shut the water off at your water main if you have a leak or a burst pipe

  • Avoid using any water fixtures in your home, including appliances

  • Clear a path to the problem area so that it’s easily accessible

  • Consider shutting your breaker if you’re concerned that the leak may affect your electrical system
