"SunControl was great to work with! Very respectful of me and my house and cleaned up when they were done. I had them do both window tinting and blinds. Although it wasn't a large job, I was treated as though it was. I would definitely use them again."

"We needed a repair to a window that had cracked. We thought the only option was to replace the whole window. We received several quotes and because of the size of the window the quotes were over $1000.00. My husband found glass.com on Home Adviser and within minutes they replied to his request. They had someone out to measure within a day and then that same day had the quote to us for under $300.00! The repairman came today and was 10 minutes early and within an hour had the window glass replaced! I would highly recommend glass.com for any window repairs you need. Very reputable company!"

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

The most popular way to remove home window tint is by using a hairdryer. Most people already have one in their home, but if you don’t, you can buy one for as little as $15. All you need to do is turn the hairdryer to its hottest and highest setting and run it over the window tint for a few minutes. Then, you can easily peel it away. You may need some goo remover for any leftover adhesive, but this DIY could be free for many people.

Yes, you can remove window tint from house windows. You can either use heat to loosen the film before peeling or scrape it away with a blade. You’ll also use a solution to wipe away any adhesive that still clings to the window.

Yes, most professional-grade window films include warranties covering fading, peeling, and bubbling.

In many cases, window tinting will boost your home value. If you’re selling your home, especially in a warmer climate, buyers are very likely to see immense value in window tinting, which improves the home’s energy efficiency and helps make the living space more comfortable. Buyers may also recognize the privacy and security improvements offered by window tinting, which could lead to them paying more for your home.

Some frosted glass sprays can handle the outdoors, but most of them aren't built for it. Sprays made for exterior use will say so clearly on the label. Anything marked “interior use only” can't hold up against rain, UV exposure, or changing temperatures without peeling, fading, or yellowing. Outdoor-rated sprays are typically more durable, but even then, proper prep and application matter. Before spraying anything outside, double-check the product instructions. If it doesn’t specifically mention exterior use, skip it.
