"Very happy with my new Liberation walkin tub.I also love the special toilet. They also installed a sink/vanity for me. I recommend them if you want quality work."
"Very knowledgeable and professional company from initial evaluation to job completion. They are not "cheap", however, any good work is never cheap. This company is certainly worth the cost."

"Services: Unclog drain, Repair toilet, Repair pipe. // Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness // Haines was recommended to me saying they were good at their job. I called them Monday, Feb 15th about a clogged drain, they came out Tues Feb 16th at the time I was told they would be there, which was great! They were there from 3:30 pm to 6:50 pm. Some repairs had to be made to the laundry tub drain and my toilet had to be lifted so they could access that portion of the drain. After the toilet was replaced, the shut-off valve leaked, so I asked them to replace that also. The work that was done created quite a mess... BUT, when they were finished you would never know that. Everything was cleaned up so well and disinfected, it looked nice and smelled nice. The workmen were very professional and knowledgeable about their job. I will add this company to my contacts as a reliable source for repairs."
"Provider was prompt, professional and friendly. Arrived at the agreed upon time for a free estimate and performed work same-day after we agreed to the price. He stuck to the price despite taking longer than expected and more work than usual due to worn-rusted pipes in my home. Cleaned-up after himself and left no sign that work was done other than our new, working toilets. We are very pleased and reccomend McDonagh & Sons Plumbing & Sewer Inc.
"This review is well over due. Now that we have the drain tile system we have not received any flooding The day he began Brian's team came to our house promptly in the morning at 8am. They immediately started jack hammering the floor around the perimeter of the basement. While two men jack hammered on opposite ends the rest of the team followed behind them clearing debris and bringing the large pieces to a truck to be hauled away. They then installed the drain pipe, sump pumps, and poured cement. They were able to compete the project within 8 hours. I was definitely impressed! Now that it is a year later with 3 seasons behind us we cannot complain about his installation of the drainage system. Furthermore, one year later he still provided us with exceptional customer service. Oddly enough our pipes connected to our sump pump that takes the water from the drain tile to the backyard became detached. He responded asap with putting the detached pipes from the sump pump back together and making sure what happened will not happen again. What I liked about him in comparison to the other companies was his approach. No sales techniques, nothing gimmicky just genuine and straight shooter type of guy. He believes in his service, no thrills and whistles to the product. Just common sense solutions with quality service. It's your house your investment. Call this guy, no "BS" to it. He won't let you down. "
"My wife contacted several painters in the local area for price quotes. She knew she wanted David and his team the moment she met him. He was professional, extremely knowledgable, and he gave us a military discount. My landlord was very particular about how she wanted the house painted and David took all of that into consideration. Leading up to the job, he notified me when he purchased the specific paint she wanted and the total cost. He also contacted me the day prior and the morning of. His team arrived on time. I don't think we anticpiated how long it was going to take for our two story home to get loaded into that truck but it took most of the day. David worked solo on painting while his team moved and never missed a beat. In fact, when my landlord showed up to check on the progress she started grilling him and he had answers for everything...different kinds of paints, bases, primer use and when, cutting style, technique, etc. etc. She left pleased as he now does painting for her other homes! As the day wore on, he bought his team lunch and dinner (including me) to keep his guys' motivated. He even bought my dog some snacks for the long cross-country drive we were about to embark on. When I kept noticing small things I didn't want to get dinged on by my landlord, I ran it by him, he looked at the area (stairwell, closet, and another bedroom that wasn't included in the original quote), and gave me a fair price to do the job right now. I was very impressed! I kept making his day longer and longer by requesting more work from him and his team and they kept working. I understand they are getting paid but was impressed with his professional ability to adapt and press until the work was accomplished. The walk through the following day went great and as I said, my landlord went from being a doubter (because I didn't go with her guy and maybe get money out of me) to now using him on her other properties! I would use David Murphy and his team again and I would reccommend them to anyone in the central Illinois area looking to have quality, affordable, painting done for their residence or business. "
Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts
The main causes for a leaky toilet flapper include wear and tear or a broken or incorrectly installed toilet flapper chain. If your toilet flapper is torn or deteriorated, it can’t provide a proper seal to keep water from running. Meanwhile, a chain that has come loose, was moved, or just wasn’t installed right can prevent your flapper from fully closing.
In most cases, drain cleaners will not clear a clogged sewer line, and they’re likely to damage your plumbing. Sewer lines are several inches wide, meaning any material that clogs it will need to be large. Drain cleaner can work on small clogs, but it usually won’t clear a larger one in a sewer main. Drain cleaners can also easily damage and corrode your plumbing with prolonged contact, and a clog will keep the cleaner in contact with the pipes for an extended period. Hire a professional sewer cleaner instead for a safe fix.
A bit of water in the bowl can help unclog a toilet, especially if you're using a plunger. However, if the bowl is full to the brim, you'll need to strap on gloves and remove some of the wastewater in a cup or container so it doesn't overflow when you try to unblock the pipe. If you're concerned about it filling further, manually close the flapper in the toilet tank or turn off the water supply to the toilet.
First, find the cleanout pipe in your yard. Unscrew the cap—you may need a wrench to do so. Then, get a drain snake. You can use a non-motorized one, but a motorized snake will make the job a little easier. Feed the snake through the pipe until it reaches the clog. Spin the snake continuously, but don’t try to feed it through the pipe anymore. Keep spinning until you feel it break the clog apart.
Toilet paper is the only material that you should flush down toilets. Other items like wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, dental floss, and medications should be disposed of in the trash. Flushing these items can lead to plumbing issues and damage to sewage systems. Grease and cooking oils should also be avoided as they can solidify in pipes, causing blockages. Proper disposal helps prevent clogs and ensures the efficient operation of wastewater treatment systems while protecting the environment.
