Customers say: Quality work

"They we're on time and did a nice job. The only issue I had that I'm not sure was there's is that the second truck of concrete was a different shade of white so mid driveway the color gets darker and wasnt blended in to the previous poor."

"I had PHI3 Construction remodel a kitchen and bathroom in townhouse I bought. I appreciate good communication since English is not my first language. Don and Doug were very helpful in how they show me ideas and listened to what I want. Everyone was clean, nice, and respectful. I have a very good experience with them as contractors."

"We have utilize Lagos on 2 different projects within the last year. Lagos Paving was a very experienced and hard working crew. Mr. Martinez took care of our needs above and beyond what was asked of Lagos. We will hire them again for any asphalt, concrete or small excavation work needs in the future."

"We had a patio and walkway installed by Anthony and his crew and he and they were nothing short of professional and polite during the whole process. The quality of work absolutely matches the cost. Even though Anthony did not replace my driveway he did take the time to explain to me how road salt can adversely affect the concrete. He also explained how to maintain it and which preventative steps can be taken to preserve the work. It's concrete, we live in a cold climate so it's a gamble. If you are looking for any concrete work to be completed, your search should begin and end with Buttitta Contruction. You will not regret it."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

Concrete does well with a number of cleaning agents, as it’s a durable material. Choose from acidic cleaners, alkaline cleaners, and pH-neutral cleaners, in addition to antibacterial solutions. Your best bet is to simply read the fine print with your preferred detergent and make sure it mentions concrete as a viable surface.

The best ways to increase the lifespan of your driveway are to carry out proper maintenance and get repairs done quickly. First, reseal your driveway every one to three years to protect it from the elements. If you start to notice significant cracks, hire a professional to diagnose the problem before it gets more serious. You can also use sand instead of salt when de-icing your driveway (since salt is corrosive) and clean your driveway annually using a pressure washer to keep it in tip-top shape.

Excavators work in tandem with dump trucks to haul away excess dirt and soil. The excavator will dig into the ground and move the excess dirt into a pile. Using a backhoe, the specialist can fill a truck with excavated soil from that pile. They will then drive the truck to a different location where they can dump the material.

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

Yes, pressure washers can remove rust stains from concrete. However, when coupled with an acid treatment, they can be even more effective. Just be sure to use a minimum of a 15-degree nozzle to prevent damage to the surface, and users must also be careful not to get in the way of the pressure washer’s jet as they can cut through skin and cause injury.
