"My experience with Grout Works was exceptional in regard to off site cleaning of 2 large oriental area rugs. The owner, David Gentry, is very knowledgeable of carpet fibers, weaves, dyes etc. I was immediately comfortable upon meeting him. I highly recommend Grout Works."

"Technician was friendly and professional, he was running slightly late however the office let me know and that part of it was well handled. I did knock off one star because the project was quoted between $150 and $170 based on my square footage over the phone and the bill was $100 more than that, payment options were also limited to check or cash. I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the clean which cost another star. The carpets were very wet and took 3 days to dry. When they did dry there was a stiff chemical feel to the carpet in particular in the closets and corners where not all of the cleaner was extracted."

"Jeff and his crew always do a great job ! They have installed all our floor coverings (carpet, hardwood, and linoleum) and we are always super happy. We’ve worked with this company on many different projects over the last 15 years and we won’t go anywhere else ! Highly recommend !"

"Johnny called prior to coming, he showed up right on time. I needed to add carpet a bedroom, he came in surveyed It explain that seaming used carpet can be hard to hide the seam. So there would be no surprise. Johnny worked quickly and efficiently and was done in a very timely manor. He hauled the left over carpet and pad off so that I wouldnâ t need to make a trip the dump. His rate was very reasonable, definitely recommend him ."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Decent carpet will last around 10 years on stairs. Some less durable carpets, like polyester, will only last five years on stairs. The ideal carpet, like wool or nylon, can last about 15 to 25 years. You’ll know when to replace it when it starts wearing down. You may have to replace it sooner if it's stained, whether due to water damage or pets.

Choosing the right carpet involves assessing room usage, desired comfort levels, durability requirements, and stylistic preferences. Carpet fiber types and density should also be considered during the decision-making process.

What a buyer prefers usually depends on the home’s layout and which material fits the current aesthetic. The local real estate market can also dictate these desires to some extent, as do the buyer’s personal preferences. With that said, laminate can increase the resale value of a home by a tiny bit, whereas carpet does not. Hardwood increases the resale value by the highest amount.

You may get better coverage painting your baseboards if you do so before carpet is installed. The best course of action may be to attempt to paint them between having the old floor removed and the new floor laid, though this will render the room unusable for a period of time and may make the entire project a bit slower overall.

It's best to wait until the newly installed carpet has fully settled and dried before moving furniture back into the room. Your carpet installation professionals can provide guidance on the recommended wait time based on factors such as the type of carpet and adhesive used. Moving furniture back in too soon could damage the carpet or affect its adherence to the floor.
