"We are SO happy that we found Ethan and Arbor Wise! We overheard one of his employees talking about working for an arborist. We immediately asked him who he worked for, as we had been looking for an arborist for several years, after our prior one had left the business. We could NOT be happier. Arbor Wise is even better than the arborist we had before! They came out for an estimate within a few days, gave us the quote and were done with the job within a short time. Not only did they do a great job of correcting the problems caused by a prior tree trimmer they explained exactly what they were doing and what would need to be done to resolve the mess that had been left behind. They also cleaned up all the debris and left our yard looking so much better than it had in years. We look forward to many years of having Arbor Wise take care of our trees for us! Thank you so much, Ethan and Sean!"

"The guys from 3M Trees are absolutely wonderful to work with. They actually called and texted when they were going to be late and exactly when they were going to show up. They're friendly, polite, and totally clean up afterwards. Their estimate was less than half of another estimate that I got for the exact same job and they were much quicker to respond. They moved things out of the way for where the tree was going to fall and put it back and totally cleaned up the yard afterwards. It's cleaner than before they showed up. I was impressed with their work ethic and how well they worked together and how pleasant they were. It made the whole thing a very enjoyable process for me. If you need tree work done I definitely recommend these guys."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Since summer is a busy time for tree companies, the cheapest time of year to remove a tree is during the winter. February and March are typically the prime time to hire a tree removal pro, and some homeowners living in colder climates can save around 20% off services. It depends on location and the company, but you can always shop around for the best deal.

Burning a tree stump can be effective, but it comes with safety considerations and isn’t always best for every situation. It's essential to check local regulations and assess the safety risks involved. Stumps that are near wooden structures or other non-moveable flammable objects aren’t good candidates for burning due to the risk of the fire spreading. Alternatives like grinding or a DIY stump rotting project might be safer and quicker for getting the job done.

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.

It may be possible, but transplanting a large, mature tree can be a tricky project, and some trees handle it better than others. If you have a tree you need to save and are considering transplanting it elsewhere, we highly suggest calling a tree removal service and arranging a consultation to see what they say (and how much a full transplant would cost).

Not every arborist climbs trees, but most will do so if that’s the best method for assessing or treating a tree. Arborists have a variety of tree climbing gear and safety equipment to choose from when climbing trees. Consult your local arborist about their tree-climbing plan if your service requires that type of task.
