It depends on whether you buy pre-made stacked cabinets or construct them from scratch. The time it takes to install new cabinets mainly depends on the number of cabinets, in addition to the installation space. For a smaller project, such as installing cabinets in a bathroom, you can expect that project to take a week or less, depending on the size of your bathroom. Your cabinet installation expert will be able to provide you with a realistic timeframe once you’ve decided on the scope of the project.

Add up the linear feet, remembering to include both upper cabinets and lower cabinets in your total. Then, calculate the cost by multiplying the average price per linear foot of the type of cabinet you plan to install by the total length you measured.

If your cabinets don’t reach the ceiling, you can extend them higher, adding visual interest, privacy, and storage space to your kitchen. Depending on the height of your ceiling, you may want to extend the structure of the cabinets and install longer doors to make each individual cabinet taller, or you could add additional cabinets above the existing ones. Either option is cheaper and easier than installing entirely new cabinets.
