"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"I didn't want to do the Rustoleum kit, after reading negative reviews. There are higher quality flooring materials available online, and so I used these to comare to MFC. MFC's quote came in at $400 more than if I did it myself. Obviously, my first project wouldn't turn out as well as theirs did. Every step was clearly explained, and performed on time (or delayed if necessary to do a better job). They even brought a trailer to store everything I had in my garage. A great group of guys with whom to work. Reasonable pricing, and great quality. I smile every time I open my garage door."

Small jobs welcome

"I highly recommend this company to others. First time I have used the services of this company, and I was very pleased from start to finish. I needed a two-door, base kitchen cabinet under my existing countertop removed to make room for a new dishwasher (house is very old and never had one). Clay was very professional, friendly, responsive in scheduling, prompt on arrival, patient in answering all of my questions and expertly skilled. He quickly identified that it was not possible to remove the cabinet without having to impact the countertop, which would have cost me money to replace. While I envisioned my dream of having a dishwasher go down the drain, Clay identified and suggested an alternate solution of creating a cut-out in the cabinet to *fit/slide* the new dishwasher into. He was also able to reuse part of the wood in the cabinet that was removed to fill a gap between the dishwasher and stove, blending it seamlessly with the other cabinets in the kitchen. Kudos to Clay for his ingenuity and ability to come up with a cost-saving solution when faced with a unique challenge! I subsequently had the dishwasher installed without any issues and the result was absolutely beautiful!!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Plywood is the best type of subfloor for a mobile home, though if you’re installing flooring in a bathroom, you may want to install a vapor barrier or use a moisture-proof subfloor material like Amdry. OBS is similar, but it can swell when moisture is present.

Either way, old mobile home subflooring made from particleboard can cause issues with your joints. If you’re replacing your subfloor, it’s best to upgrade to plywood.

Sheet vinyl is the cheapest DIY flooring, depending on the brand, style, and quality you choose. Not only is it one of the most affordable flooring products on the market, but it is also easy for most homeowners to install, as it only requires cutting, trimming, and gluing down to the existing floor surface. Some sheet vinyl manufacturers make a loose-lay sheet vinyl flooring that does not even need to be glued.

Carpet squares, tile stickers, painting or stenciling existing tile floors, and painting existing concrete flooring are also affordable options for DIY flooring.

When considering cork flooring pros and cons, you may have toyed with the idea of getting other types of flooring, including hardwood. But how does it compare in price? Your new cork flooring can cost less than hardwood, depending on the wood type you choose. Cork costs about $5 to $19 per square foot, while hardwood costs $6 to $25 per square foot.

Yes, you can put carpet directly on concrete. However, you need to take certain precautions to ensure the success of the carpet installation. For example, you’ll need to choose a synthetic carpet pad to provide insulation and cushioning and a vapor barrier to prevent moisture from seeping into the carpet.

Impervious or vitreous tile and vinyl flooring work best for the kitchen. These surfaces are non-porous (or have a very low porosity) that can stand up against spills, splashes, and plumbing leaks. Some natural stones are also a good fit, but keep porosity in mind. You may need to seal them to avoid stains and water damage to the subfloor.
