"A on service, C on price. Service was beyond my expectations, but they were a little more expensive than I was expecting. I would highly recommend if you need a job done well and you don’t mind paying for it."

"We purchased an older home and the living room was without a ceiling fan. I also noticed some other electrical issues that weren't right so ultimately I hired Dwayne to remedy a number of issues. I took Dwayne around the property and we discussed what needed to be done. Project included a ceiling fan in the living room, an exhaust fan in the bathroom, reducing the load on circuit breakers to name a few. I also wanted an electrical panel in the garage for a 220 hookup. Dwayne discussed it all and made recommendations. Later that day he provided an estimate. I thought it seemed reasonable but had nothing to compare it to. Ultimately I feel I got my money's worth. Dwayne is a big guy and he had to go up in the attic to run wiring for the fans. My attic has blown in insulation and a very low roof line. He had very little room to maneuver and had to lay on his belly with his nose inches above the insulation, but he got to work done in record time. Everything went smoothly until the garage. Nothing about the garage wiring was correct. In the end Dwayne hat to run new wiring under concrete to get power to the garage which was fraught with complications and took a day and a half longer than anticipated. My bill remained the same as his estimated which is why I decided a got my money's worth. The only extra was a ice cold beer which he highly deserved. I would not hesitate to recommend Dwayne Olney to anyone wanting any type of electical done."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

You can install solar panels on a metal roof, but it will require some additional thought and care versus a traditional asphalt shingle roof. That’s because heat dissipates off a metal roof differently than asphalt or wood, so you may need to space the panels further from the roof. However, a pro can help you with the details and provide a safe and effective installation.

Professionals use the same methods to install solar shingles that they do for asphalt shingles, so you’ll often see a similar installation timeline of one to two days. The amount of time required will depend on the size and slope of your roof and the number of shingles installed. Weather conditions can delay installation, as working on a roof is unsafe during high winds or heavy rain.

The best solar panels to withstand hail are those rated UL 61730. These solar panels are certified to withstand hailstones up to 3 inches in diameter and travel at speeds up to 88 mph. IP68 solar panels are the next most resilient solar panel. Solar panels without these ratings can handle hail up to 1 inch in diameter that travels up to 50 miles per hour. If you live in an area with frequent or severe hailstorms, purchasing UL 61730 solar panels is often worth the investment.

Installing solar panels involves drilling small holes in your roof to secure the solar panel mounting brackets. These brackets hold the solar panels in place and must withstand strong weather conditions so they’re secured into your roof. However, holes and screws are sealed to prevent leaking and further damage.

Solar panels have a life span between 10 and 40 years, depending on the type of panel. For example, monocrystalline panels can last up to 40 years, while thin-film ones only last between 10 and 20 years. The longevity also comes down to keeping up with solar panel repairs and their related costs .
