"We had Sam, Bradley, and Mason assist us with a move from one part of King County to the other. They were kind, patient, professional, adhered to CDC COVID-19 guidelines, and made our experience much more pleasant. Moreover, Emma also helped us locate crating and packing materials for the move."

"The guys doingvthe moving were great and polite. My biggest complaint is with customer service. I booked the move, gave them a deposit 7 days before the move. Two days before the move we reviewed details and they sprang a !6% fuel charge on the total amount instead miles travel. Unacceptable! Bait and switch! Call it what it is. Raise your price whatever but a 16% fuel charge on the total bill is ridiculous! I will not recommend them nor use them again."

"Our moving team was right on time, very efficient and respectful. They did an excellent job packing a very full truck for a cross country move. When we got there, nothing shifted, nothing broke. They were great, would highly recommend!!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

The cost to rent a moving truck is $1,000, with a typical range running between $20 and $3,500, depending on the truck size and how far you are moving.

It depends on your policy, but you may be covered for any damages to your personal property. How much you receive will depend on the circumstances under which property was damaged and if you can prove it was damaged during the incident on the road. Your insurance company may also only cover the cost to repair any items, and not outright replace them. Checking in with your insurance provider will help you get a clearer picture of your overall coverage.

Yes, it is generally possible to move a stair lift to another home, but the feasibility depends on the type of lift. Straight stair lifts are much simpler to move and can usually be reinstalled on other straight staircases with professional help. Curved stair lifts, however, are custom-built for a specific stairway. Because each rail is designed to fit the unique curves of the original staircase, it is unlikely to work in a new home. Moving a curved lift can be costly and challenging, and you may need to sell or remove the old unit and install a new one at your new location.

When moving yourself, you should consider the non-monetary costs, such as time spent and physical and mental stress. If you’re packing and moving every box on your own, or with the help of a few volunteers, you can expect the process to take several days or even weeks. While it’s a less expensive option than hiring full-service movers, keep in mind that the process will be much more difficult.

Yes, you can move a tiny house on skids, although it will be costly to do so frequently. Skids are essentially hefty timbers you can attach a chain to to move the entire structure. People often build their tiny homes on top of the skids, allowing them to be more portable. However, it’s not as simple of a move as a house on wheels, so it’s a more complicated move.
