"We had Sam, Bradley, and Mason assist us with a move from one part of King County to the other. They were kind, patient, professional, adhered to CDC COVID-19 guidelines, and made our experience much more pleasant. Moreover, Emma also helped us locate crating and packing materials for the move."

"Very smooth move with these movers. They gave me the lowest quotation so I went with them for the move. They disassembled and wrapped everything carefully, so nothing was scratched. They were very quick, only took a few hours to move our whole apt. The final price ended up being near the estimate so I was satisfied!"

"We had an excellent move with Derek. He and his staff were prompt, courteous, efficient and careful with our possessions. Our move was complicated in that they had to drop some of our things at an apartment and the rest in two storage lockers. The storage lockers involved transferring our things from the large moving van to a smaller truck. Everything went off without a hitch. No damage whatsoever to our possessions, and Derek even figured out how to use two storage lockers instead of three, saving us money. We highly recommend Derek and his company. Best move we’ve had, by far."

Moving questions, answered by experts

To transport a bed frame, disassemble it as much as needed and then wrap it with moving blankets or bubble wrap to prevent damage. If you’re transporting the frame in your vehicle, check to ensure it’ll fit before you start. If not, you might need to rent a moving truck or hire professional movers to transport your bed frame to its new home.

You can lay a refrigerator down to move it with a lot of padding underneath, but it’s best to transport it upright to keep the cooling refrigerant and compressor oil in place. These elements can cause blockages if not given time to settle before turning the fridge on.

If you need to lay the fridge down to move it, position the fridge door hinges so that doors won’t open while moving.

Start by removing any obstacles in the moving path, such as side tables, lamps, or other furniture. If your couch has legs, unscrew them. Measure the couch and the stairway to ensure you have enough room; if it seems unlikely, examine the shape and size of the couch and decide whether it might fit better up the stairway and through doorways on its side, held diagonally, or moved in an upright position.

Consider putting the sofa on a dolly to go up the stairs. It should be able to fit upright on a standard dolly with wheels. You’ll still need to lift the dolly—with the couch on it—up the stairs, but it will reduce the physical strain. The person holding the dolly should pull the couch up, while the helper should be on the other side, keeping the couch secure and steady.

If you don’t have a dolly, the person in front should lift the couch slightly higher than the person in the back to create more stability. The person in the back should also be the stronger mover, as most of the weight will be distributed there.

It is certainly possible to move a piano without hiring movers, but it’s not recommended. Not only will you need at least four people to lift and maneuver the piano, but getting it around tight corners and down flights of stairs might not be possible without the help of movers. Plus, pianos are exceptionally heavy and bulky, which means you and any helping hands are at risk of injury, as well as an increased risk of damaging your piano. Ultimately, it’s always worth it to call in a professional piano mover.

Moving companies offer a variety of service packages to suit different needs and budgets during the moving process. They typically provide loading, unloading, and transportation services, using specialized equipment to handle heavy and bulky items. Services can also include packing assistance, where professional packers securely pack belongings to ensure their safety during transportation. Some moving companies also offer temporary storage options, as well as unpacking services upon arrival.
